I have about 900-1000 old slides that i want to copy from a scanner. how many of these sd would i need to purchase at 128gb?

It all depends on the resolution of the scanner and hence the size of each slide file. If each file is 10 MB, then 1000 slide files would take about 10 GB.

One should be more than enough. Depending on density, each picture will be several MB. So even if each was 10 MB, which I doubt, X 1,000 pictures would only be 10 gb.
