Little of the photography I do calls for an effects filter of this type. But I'll keep one on hand that offers high quality and performance. As the most recent of a number of K&F filters I own, this 18-layer, multi-coated, four-point, short-ray star filter does exactly that. The filter threads securely on the front of the camera lens, allowing the effects ring to smoothly rotate and produce light rays at different angles and apparent lengths. At the end of a session or at any stopping point, a lens cap fits easily on the filter front and can remain there protecting your glass while packing gear or until resuming the shoot. The star effect is most pronounced when shooting bright, pinpoint lights and reflections. Focusing can get tricky, though, any time you are shooting toward a light source. Generally, I’ve found autofocus to be effective, nonetheless. Manual mode, however, may work best in some situations. Aperture is also a factor. Experiment with higher, f/16 or f/20 settings and try varying the ratio between the light source and existing light. The effects of a short-ray, four-point filter are more on the subtle side. As with any effects filter, trying to compensate for that by over-using it can quickly produce a gimmicky look. Enhance the scene, don’t recreate it. Included with the filter are a greeting and three microfiber cleaning cloths. There is also a plastic filter case whose difficulty to open is made manageable only by anticipation of the quality filter inside.

I use K&F filters all the time and this one’s another great addition to my set. The 4-point star effect adds a nice sparkle to street lights and signage without blowing out the frame, and the rotation lets you dial the angle for the look you want. The glass is clear, coatings keep reflections down, and the aluminum frame threads on smoothly with no vignetting on my Sony A7IV.

These are great for night city shots, holiday lights, or adding some flair right in-camera. For the price, the quality and control this provides a lot of value, especially if you're shooting any type of light.

This is a great filter for your camera when taking night pictures and videos. It’s a lot more subtle than I thought it would be which is a good thing. It makes lights have that starburst effect, but it’s not overpowering. The filter rotates too like a CPL so you can change the direction of the bursts. Definitely an awesome effect to your pictures especially with the holiday season coming.

This 62mm variable star lens filter delivers nicely on those starburst patterns around bright lights. It handles both still photos and video without any issues, giving a subtle sparkle that can really elevate night scenes or sunny highlights. The construction is solid, made from optical glass with an 18 layer coating to cut down on glare, and the rotating outer ring lets you dial in the exact look you want. It even includes three handy cleaning cloths in the package. For the price, its a reliable quality filter that adds some fun to my photography without overcomplicating things.

My final thoughts on the 52 mm lens filter:
Creates cinematic starburst effects from point light sources (lights, reflections, LEDs, etc.).

Each light gets 4-point cross lines, adding a sparkling, dreamy look to your videos or photos.

Variable / adjustable effect: twist the filter to increase or decrease the intensity of the star effect.

Optical glass with multi-layer coatings reduces glare, ghosting, and flare while keeping colors natural.

Highly recommend this lens filter.

The K&F CONCEPT 77mm Star Filter comes in a protective storage case. It fits my Sony FE 4/24-105 G lens. (See photo) The ring is made of metal with prominent knurled grips for easy control.

The way the star filter works is by having thin lines etched in a crosshatch pattern on the filter. As points of light pass through the Xs, they cause a star pattern. The thicker the lines, the longer the points.

This is an excellent star filter in that it doesn't significantly soften the image. (see photo comparison) This filter is perfect for night photography. It is a great way to upgrade a landscape to bring an emotion that a cell phone camera can't.

FANTASTIC VALUE AND SOLID PERFORMANCE

Building out a full collection of lens filters can get incredibly expensive really fast. That's why I'm always on the lookout for brands like K&F Concept that can deliver a quality product at a much more reasonable price point. This 4 point star filter is a perfect example of that.

This star lens filter is well made and gives a beautiful starburst effect to bright points in photos. The glass is clear and the variable design lets me adjust the intensity of the lines easily. It screws onto my seventy seven millimeter lens smoothly and feels secure without causing vignetting.

I used this filter during a night city shoot to add a cross star effect to street lights and reflections. It made the lights in my images sparkle without overexposure and gave an artistic look to my long exposure shots. The adjustable star line orientation allowed me to experiment with different creative effects on the fly.

This filter is a fun addition to my photography kit and I think it is perfect for creative projects holiday lights or concert photography. It comes with a cleaning cloth and feels high quality for the price. I am very happy with the results and would recommend it to photographers who want to add some sparkle to their shots.

This is a very enjoyable filter whose star tails are far less destructive / invasive than the standard starburst filters. Excellent for direct lines of sight for small scattered LED's, they also add tails to flares from shimmer walls and such, though less organized and pronounced. Comes with multiple microfiber cloths for keeping your whole kit clean this is a good deal for a very functional and effective filter. I don't want to share any of my current images but will try to shoot some just for this review shortly. If you have say a LED strip light with many diodes, like a grow light as an example, the effect is overpowering. For a string of spread out fairy lights it's much more whimsical.

When I photographed my home this spring with a regular starpoint my landscaping lights just turned into a full frame flare-spectacle in a way that was quite distracting, I'm looking forward to redoing that image now with this and it should have a much more quaint feel.

I got the 77mm for use on my 5dmii and have been shooting with my 24-105mm F4.
