58mm Black Diffusion Mist 1/4 & Variable ND2-32 2-in-1 Filter Cinematic Effect Neutral Density Filter for Camera Lens with 18 Multi-Layer Coatings - Nano-Klear Series

This is my fifth k&f concept filter. I’ve never been disappointed with the quality they deliver, this filter is no exception. The precise machining on it and the nice smooth variable filter media stays where it is turned too, not too stiff and not loose. Comes with a nice storage case that’s protective and a trio of microfiber cleaning clothes. Excellent product and image quality.

As a long-term hobbyist photographer, I'm always interested in the new photographic "tools" that are being advertised. I enjoy photographing landscapes, which may include sunrises, sunsets and photos of streams and waterfalls. Other photographers understand how excess light and glare can make good photo results/outcomes more of a challenge.

I was especially interested in this K&F Concept ND filter, because it was advertised as VARIABLE in adjustment (ND 2-32)! The product arrived in very good/secure manufacturer packaging, and the contents included the variable ND filter, as well as 3 sealed micro cleaning cloths. I ordered the filter in 82mm as this will give me greater available lens size options when using the variable ND filter; I have step up rings, which allow me to use filters that are larger in diameter than the actual lens installed on my DSLR cameras.

The machining for this lens filter is obviously of higher quality. Fine mounting threads reveal absolutely no burrs and no seizing or grittiness in feel while installing or removing the filter from lenses. The filter finish appears flawless in matte black and includes an area of the circumference that is slightly serrated/grooved, which allows for easier gripping of the outside of this ringed ND filter.

The variable ND capability allows for significant filtering outcomes for my photography projects given the ND 2-32 filtering levels available (see photos). I heartily recommend this economical, practical/useful K&F Concept variable ND filter to other photographers using DSLR and mirrorless camera systems.

I like K&F Concept. I think they make quality items at good prices and this filter is no different. It comes with three microfiber cleaning clothes, which is always appreciated. It screws onto my lens smoothly, but I do have to tighten it up a little more than my other filters otherwise it can start to loosen up from turning it for adjustments. I'm a fan of variable ND's as it gives you more flexibility. I attached a couple pics with and without the filter and I do really like the look that the Black Diffusion Mist element adds. I was able to go from a 1/8000 to 1/500 shutter with 50mm F1.8 ISO 200, which is pretty good. If you are looking for an innovative combo filter, then you should definitely check this one out.

The K&F Concept Black Diffusion Mist 1/4 & Variable ND2-32 is game-changer for my video/photo projects. The diffusion mist gives my footage a soft, cinematic glow without losing too much sharpness, which is perfect for capturing moody vibes. Before this filter I was using a K&F black mist filter 1/4 stacked on top of an ND filter, which gave similar result. Doing this was a pain because sometimes the filters would get stuck and it takes a challenge to take off. So having both in one is a triple plus for me and my work.

One of the best things about this filter is that it has hard stops. My other K&F filter at some point you would get a X across your screen. I don’t notice any vignetting either even though I’m a big fan of it. Check out the two photos I took see a comparison of how the pro mist benefits and the ND adds that cinematic touch for low aperture shooting bright scenes.

Overall, this filter feels solid, works seamlessly, and delivers a pro-level aesthetic. If you’re into filmmaking or just want to elevate your photos/videos, this is worth it. Highly recommend!

K&F’s combination of a black mist and variable ND filter is innovative. I have only tested this filter on one lens—an FE 70-200 f/4 ii. Rolling through variations of the same shot, I saw gradual change; the reduction in glare, noticeable. I have four lenses with 72mm threads, and this filter will get plenty of use. I am very pleased to own it.

I have purchased a number of K&F filters previously, and other K&F products. I have found that its products are of excellent value and quality. I sometimes wonder whether the purported quality of higher priced filters is marketing-driven; whether it’s more about reinforcing our perceptions about the relationship between price and quality, rather than real-world performance improvements.

There are likely superior filters - filters with glass reclaimed from ancient Greek vases. However, this combination filter will serve me swimmingly. I mightn’t even be able to tell the difference.

You’re getting a lot of performance from this filter at a very reasonable price. It’s a precision-built filter with flawless engineering. All K&F filters come with a sturdy, light case, and three cleaning clothes.

What a great idea! Combining a Black mist filter with a variable ND filter! While I usually had to superimpose two filters to obtain the same result, K&F had the excellent idea of ​​offering this filter combining the two filters... First of all, the design is flawless! As is often the case, K&F offers a very high-quality product at a particularly well-considered price... The packaging is no surprise, it displays the brand's usual beauty standards ; ) It contains a good quality plastic protective box that will very effectively protect the filter before it is attached to your favorite lens or filter holder. The finishes inspire confidence and we really enjoy using this filter during our photo/video outings. The thread is impeccably machined and the attachment to my anamorphic lens is done without any difficulty. Once attached, the filter loses the "too precise" aspect specific to videos or photos obtained with an iPhone... it creates a slight cinematic blur and this is mainly felt in intense lights... they become more vaporous and less harsh. In case of strong general brightness, this allows greater latitude in the settings of its application. Finally, it remains at this time always attached to my lens. For me it is a must have and as often, K&F concept does not disappoint. Only the microfibers are a little questionable... instead of the 3 microfibers offered I would have preferred to have only one but larger. Because the size of those offered does not allow easy use to clean the lens... But this of course does not detract from the quality of the filter itself.

I have other photography products from K&F and they are always been of great value. This 49mm filter is no exception. I am very much a hobbyist photographer, but I am confident that this filter would suit semi-professionals, or quite possibly those who make a full-time living from photography.
