Well-Built, Thoughtfully Designed, and a Welcome Change from Digital Effects
As someone who collects creative lens filters and regularly uses them in both personal and professional work, I’m always on the lookout for new tools that offer something different. This Spiral Halo filter from K&F Concept is a fantastic addition to my growing collection. It’s not just another gimmick — it’s a well-built, thoughtfully designed piece of gear that holds up against filters from brands costing two or three times as much.
Right out of the box, the quality is obvious. The K9 optical glass is crystal clear with no distortion, and the metal housing feels sturdy and well-machined. Unlike a lot of cheaper special effect filters that feel more like toys or novelty items, this one feels like it’s made for working photographers. One of the things I really appreciate is that it comes with a screw-mount holder, which allows me to mount it directly to my lens instead of handholding it. That might seem minor, but for long sessions — especially when shooting beauty or stylized portrait work — it makes a huge difference in consistency and comfort.
I specialize in beauty and avant-garde portraiture, so I’m constantly experimenting with ways to create atmosphere and texture in-camera, rather than relying entirely on post-processing. In an age where Photoshop and AI-generated edits dominate so much of what we see, it’s refreshing to work with something physical that bends light in a very real and organic way. This filter produces a subtle but compelling swirling glow around light sources — especially striking with backlit subjects, rim lighting, or anything involving practical lighting setups. The result is dreamy, otherworldly, and a little surreal without going overboard.
I also really trust K&F Concept as a brand. I’ve used several of their other filters and accessories, and they’ve all delivered consistent quality. They’ve carved out a space where professional-grade tools are still accessible — which is something I respect and appreciate as someone who shoots often and likes to work fast without compromising on results.
Bottom line: if you’re someone who values in-camera creativity, enjoys playing with light and atmosphere, and wants gear that feels as good as it looks, this Spiral Halo filter is an excellent investment. I’m excited to work this into my regular rotation and see how it plays with some of my other specialty filters. It’s the kind of tool that keeps creative photography fun, unpredictable, and tactile — which, for me, is the whole point.

Dreamy Effect
This is fun to experiment with for adding fun and cool "practical" effects into your shots rather than use an artificial or digital effect after the fact. It feels substantial and well-made, but still relatively light and portable, so it's an easy addition to your camera carry. Great for distorting light or blurring part of your shot to add extra focus to your main subject or another area of the frame. It comes with a padded carrying case that's much larger than the filter itself, so it might be nice if there were a custom-shaped case to help cut down on size. And the glass can be prone to fingerprints so you have to be a little delicate when using it if you are using it handheld (and not on a mount).

It is well built, works as intended, reminds me of Interstellar.
So I'm not going to knock anything about if the effect is cheesy, dumb, or anything because the filter does exactly what it says it will looks wise.
What I can say is the filter is built really well, is sturdy, and make your life easier and invest in a magic arm and a mount while using this if you want consistent results, but hand hold it if you want easy fine tuning.
I found the effect akin to the Black Hole in the movie Interstellar with how it warps space and light. The effect can go from subtle to pronounced depending on how much of your lens you cover with the filter. Video is quite interesting with it since it can create a dream effect that can be interesting.
As mentioned above, I REALLY suggest using an articulating arm to hold it if you want consistency as small micro movements create a dramatic shift in how it works. Even the angle of filter can create warping and distortion vastly different even if you change it by 2~3 degrees.

For creative photography, and videography
You can get creative with this gadget.. It is a tool for most photographers to use to create creative portraits or even sun flares.
I wish I could’ve had a different pattern as this one seems to be a bit boring, but that’s just me.
KNF makes good solid products that it is made out of glass with metal frame and it has a quarter inch to attach to amount if you needed to
Be creative and look at their other products as well

A Must-Have for Creative Shooters Who Love In-Camera Magic
As a YouTuber and Realtor, I'm always looking for ways to make my content more visually striking, and this Spiral Halo filter has quickly earned a permanent spot in my gear bag. It’s not just visually fun — it’s a seriously well-made tool for anyone who wants to create eye-catching images or video without relying on post-production effects.
Build quality is excellent. The filter feels solid, with durable optical glass and a well-machined frame. It mounts easily and stays secure, which is huge when you're moving fast on set or during a shoot. I really appreciate that it comes with a mounting system that supports use with a magic arm — a big help for hands-free consistency when I'm filming talking head segments or showcasing properties.
The effect itself is really unique. It bends and twists light in a way that creates a subtle halo or swirling distortion, especially around bright points or backlit subjects. It’s a look that feels dreamlike without going overboard. Whether you're doing stylized portraits, macro work, or cinematic B-roll, it adds instant atmosphere. Think sci-fi or art house film vibes — perfect for making content that stands out on social media or YouTube.
I've used plenty of filters over the years, and this one stands out because it's both functional and inspiring. It encourages experimentation and offers something different than the usual flat, clean digital look. If you angle it slightly or shift its position, you get a completely different mood — that kind of creative flexibility is priceless.
Also, shoutout to K&F for including a protective pouch. It’s a small thing, but when you’re constantly moving between locations, that added protection makes a difference.
If you're into experimental looks, stylized content, or just want to add a new creative tool to your kit — this filter is absolutely worth it.

A GREAT TOOL FOR DREAMY PORTRAITURE
I recently got this K&F Concept 100mm Spiral Halo Camera Lens Filter, and it’s exactly what I needed for adding unique, dreamy effects directly in camera. For photographers and videographers wanting to create soft, swirling bokeh and ethereal light, this filter is a fantastic tool. It helps me achieve those artistic, stylized looks without relying heavily on post production.
This 100mm filter is made from high quality optical glass. Its handheld design allows for flexible positioning in front of the lens, giving me precise control over the spiral halo effect. I especially appreciate how it transforms point lights into beautiful, swirling patterns, adding depth and a magical quality to my images.

Great for photographers and videographers!
The K&F Concept B-Series filter has a very high-quality feel – the glass is clear and robust, the aluminum frame is pleasantly light yet sturdy. I find the handling particularly practical: the grip opening makes the filter very secure in the hand and allows it to be quickly positioned in front of the lens or attached to a tripod.
The creative effects are truly something special. The "swirl" design creates a beautiful, atmospheric blur around the subject, instantly giving photos and videos a cinematic look. Especially with portraits, this creates a unique look that's hard to achieve with traditional filters. For creative projects or when I want to add more atmosphere to my shots, this filter is simply perfect.
The build quality is also impressive: no color shifts, no distracting reflections, the glass is easy to clean, and it can be safely transported in the included carrying case. You can immediately tell that the needs of photographers and videographers were considered in this design.
All in all, a creative tool that's fun to use, inspiring, and takes my work to a new level. I like to use it whenever I want to create something special.

A cool creative effect half-filter
This is a well-made creative effect half-filter with an aluminum handle that also features a 1/4-inch mounting point for conveniently attaching the filter to a magic arm. The glass is thick and scratch-resistant, but it is still susceptible to scratches and breakage.
To mitigate this risk during transport, K&F includes a small, lightly padded fabric pouch that does the job quite well.
As for the creative effect, as seen in the illustrative photos, it creates a curvature of the image around a half-ring, with the effect most intense closest to the inner circle and blending smoothly outwards. It's best suited for a relatively simple scene and a fairly wide aperture, as it can quickly overwhelm the background in a somewhat chaotic way, a bit like a rotating motion blur in bokeh.
An interesting filter for creative portraiture with a controlled scene or for minimalist macro photography, for example.
