I got this fingerprint front door lock as an upgrade to a non-app phone because I wanted the vastly easier setup of an app, and this delivered, but the physical key lock portion was lousy.Installation was the easiest I've done so far with smart locks. I tested installing it in a regular bathroom door and it fit fine, no widening of the hole necessary. Unlike other smart locks I've installed in the past the long wire was easy to stuff into the space in the door.It uses the common Tuya Smart/Smart Life apps. I had no trouble connecting and didn't need to press anything on the lock to start it. Once in I saw the people I have added to other smart locks, so that saves some time when adding them to this lock, just adding their fingerprints. The app allows disabling app unlocking (for added security), setting auto-unlock, and lock volume. It also has a log of when the lock was unlocked, and who did it.This lock has a temporary code feature. This is done right because it works even if not connected to the lock. The app can generate a temporary code form anywhere and it will work on the lock at home for five minutes. This is very useful to have, especially without requiring a WiFi connection or the optional Wi-Fi hub.I had no trouble adding my fingerprint, and it worked about 9 times out of 10.The number keypad lights up for nighttime use but it was dim and the edge numbers and lock button were noticeably dimmer.The keys operated poorly in this. They worked and I don't think they would get stuck, but it felt like they were grinding as I turned, and the lock often squeaked. It's not a big deal for me since the keys are just a backup to be used very rarely.The latch assembly is supposed to rotate to expand but it gets stuck part way so will only work in the unexpanded size. The mechanism also felt less smooth than other ones.The company logo on the front is pretty tacky. I somehow missed that in the photos, or thought it was just added for the product photos. I'm definitely using a black pen or paint to darken the name on the front.

I ordered this Smart Lock for our office.What I love about this lock is that you DO NOT need to download the app in order to program it. You can easily program the keycodes and the fingerprint methods using the Quick Set Up instructions on the back of the installation guide. If you do want to download the app, you'll be able to unlock the door, and set up new users/key codes/fingerprints in the app also. I opted for to program my lock without the app, so I cannot speak to how well the app functions.You'll need 4 AA batteries to operate this lock. If you do not have the batteries on hand, you can still use this as a manual deadbolt by using the 2 physical house keys provided.The instructions were written decently well, and I followed them to install this lock. There's a video in this listing that summarizes the installation if you need to see the installation and follow along.In total, I had this installed in 5 minutes despite a small setback. My small setback was that the torque blade was too long, and I could not secure the back of the lock housing because of it. I used channel-lock pliers and linesman pliers to hold, then bent off the excess torque blade at the etched groove. It snapped off cleanly when I applied a moderate amount of pressure.When programming the keycode access, your code will need to be 8-10 digits long. No sequences (12345...) and no repeating numbers (222333444). I feel like that's a pretty long code to have to enter.If you're having trouble thinking of what you want your keycode to be, you can use an old phone number as it contains 10 digits (XXX)-XXX-XXXX. Or, you can use your favorite child's (or pet's) date of birth. But, for security's sake, probably enter it in reverse order (like this 2000-03-27), etc.If you need to reset your lock, there's a super tiny pin they provide that you stick in the reset hole. If you accidentally drop and lose this pin, you can use a paperclip to press the reset button.Lastly, this lock is a bit noisy. Even with the keypad in silent mode, the lock and unlock mechanism itself registers in the 70-decibel range zone. That's about the sound of a toilet flushing, the dishwasher, washer machine, or vacuum (according to an internet search). In some ways, the fact that it is a bit noisy acts as a deterrent for teenagers trying to sneak in past curfew. There is no sneaking in with this lock. Just something to think about; see my video if you want to hear it in action. Also, even if your keypad is in silent mode, the system beeps are still audible. So while you won't hear someone entering their code in the keypad, you will hear the "successful unlock/lock" system tones.Overall, I am very pleased with this lock. I wish it were a little quieter. But I've been looking for a lock that does not require using another app - because I already have apps for everything else these days. And this lock fits the bill and operates well.

I love this new deadbolt for my front door. I found it very easy to install after reading the instructions. I was able to replace my existing deadbolt with this unit. It is so much easier for me to be able to get in the house with my fingerprint, I love it. I know I will be using the pin feature when I go out of town to allow my dog sitter access to the house without worrying about her losing the house key. I highly recommend this smart lock.

This deadbolt is great. It was very simple to install and set up was quick. As long as you read the directions you can set up pin # and fingerprint easily. You can set it to auto lock and delay for up to 99 seconds. Or you can just hold down the lock/unlock button for 2 seconds and it manually locks. Or you can use your key. Fingerprint reader works very well. Love the ease of the locking and unlocking and it adds a quickness so when my wife and I go shopping it's an ease to open when our hands are full. Definitely worth getting this for your home.

eElectric door lock that works with no issues. Install was straight forward and pin pad makes getting in and out of garage easy. Extra security than with just a normal knob. Lock Finish is hefty and is very secure to door. App works but could be refined and updated. Finger print works but prefer the pin pad because it’s fast

This is the second door lock that I've installed with a bio-metric feature. This lock has 4 unlocking modes - passcode, smart app, fingerprint and, of course, physical keys. The instruction booklet is better than a lot that I've seen and pretty clearly written. Passcodes are pretty standard features on locks today but the fingerprint mode is starting to show up more often. The other nice thing about this lock is that it's SmartLife compatible. I have several lights, locks, gun safes, etc., that are all using the same app. No need to learn a new app for each device you're using. Setup is easy and once learned, adding a new device is a piece of cake.My only concern is the fingerprint feature. Being exposed to outdoor conditions, I wonder how well the fingerprint feature will work when it's raining or snowing. Time will tell.

Can’t beat it for the price. A smart lock with some convenient features, and everything works as advertised. I’d call it good. There are just a couple of small things. The inside cover is black plastic. Nothing unusual there, lots of things have gone this route, it attaches solidly to the included plate, and they even included an extra tiny screw which you’re gonna need eventually.The latch and the strike are silver. Not a dealbreaker, but I notice it. I’ll get used to it.I’d normally call it a solid 3 stars, but I’m going to give them an extra for the instructions. If everything you ordered came with instructions like this it would be a better world.
