My grandson wanted a higher quality sound for his videos than his built-in microphone provided on his Nikon D3100. After reading some reviews about the hissing artifacts that this microphone made with other D3300s, I was unsure how this microphone would work. For indoors video shooting, we experimented and found that setting the microphone sensitivity manually on the D3300 in the range of 8-10 worked great without hissing. I highly recommend this microphone!

Sounds worst than the very low quality mic that comes with the Samsung A20. I even bought the extra TRRS cable to use it with a phone. How is that even possible?

I use this with my Sony ax33 4K camcorder recording college marching bands that play with extreme intensity. The quality is excellent!!
