Easy setup and fun to use
It arrived just in time to see the “blue” moon! Was easy to set up. My first use was to look at the moon. Viewing the moon through the telescope made me feel like I could touch the moon! Can’t wait to have more opportunities for viewing the sky with the telescope.

Great price. Incredibly easy to assemble. Looks am
Celestron has, hands down, given me the chance to do what I’ve been wishing to do since I was a little kid. I haven’t been able to see the rings on Saturn or Jupiter’s clouds. Just yet. I’ve had it for around two weeks, so with practice I’m excited that I will be able to do so. Two weeks ago I took my very first picture of the moon and the craters look incredibly awesome. And this last weekend I took a picture of the full moon that everyone in my family and at work have loved. I loved it. It makes me feel excited about the possibility of seeing more and more every time I use it and fall in love with the sky.

bought this for my dude
My guy loved this and he is 32! We've had picnics at night looking at the stars and on the beach. Can't wait to take it to the desert! I did tons of research before buying these and i would say they are great for a beginner. The moon is incredible and the Orion Nebula is so cool. That's pretty much it. Cant see many things for this price which is what I was hoping. But I'm just being a cheap-o.

A most excellent telescope
I highly recommend this telescope - and the lens accessories. It was not damaged in shipping. It took some time to assemble, but you want to get it right. The first time trying was not very successful. I recommend viewing the YouTube videos that explain how to use. You have to set the equator and calibrate the view finder with the scope. Once that is done, you can locate anything with the finder and it will show up in the scope. The knobs for rotational adjustments are a bit awkward but necessary. I am thrilled with the quality and ability to see more than just the moon. One in particular was Saturn and it’s moon. It was crystal clear, but I have since bought the Orion 08711 Shorty. This should improved deep space viewing. Oh, and there are many blogs that will assist your viewing pleasure. Enjoy the universe.

Like a little kid on Christmas
I am an adult and when I saw this light up moon I just had to have it! I received it yesterday and squealed in delight as I opened it up to see all its splendor. It is beautiful and I could stare at it all day. Now I’m trying to think of who else I can gift it to who would appreciate such an interesting marvelous art piece as much as I do. Get it!!

Amazing first telescope! the tripod could be bette
This is my first telescope, so I don't have a lot of things to compare it too.nevertheless for a first telescope, I was really happy when I saw the moon for the first time, I am aware by now that I won't be able to see far objects with this telescope, but the moon looks amazing, I was able to see the city from a little cabin on the outsides like I was right inside, and the thing that I loved the most: I was able to see all 4 of Jupiter moons (they looked like little little stars around a bigger star, but seeing them perfectly aligned on their orbit was surprisingly fulfilling!)Takes like 5 or 10 minutes to set up at most and is easily carried around in the back pack, brings a software that can tell you what to see in the sky and where to look for (in your computer).now the bad thing about the telescope (leaving aside its short range) the tripod is almost useless, it takes twice as long to set your telescope on whatever when you have to take into consideration how much will it move from what you have in sight once you screw it, and the way it shakes with every little movement makes seen far objects almost impossible, I'd highly recommend anyone to get a better tripod if possible.

Good beginner telescope (here are tips from fellow
Ordered 3 months ago and used it 3 times so far. Very good beginner telescope, easy to assemble! Right off the bat, very easy to use for the moon! We've been using the app "Sky Map" to locate planets.I labeled the cardboard as I unpackaged it for the first time because I knew I would want to pack it up back into the box, not having a case. Grateful I did!A few things we've learned (as amateur astronomers) from trial and error and especially YouTube videos:-The moon and planets move surprisingly fast!-Smaller number on the lens means larger magnification.-The adjuster handle, which does the up-down alignment, tends to shift the telescope when you tighten it or let go of it. Takes some getting used to.-It's crucial to align the finder scope before looking for planets. YouTube astronomers recommend aligning the finder scope in the daytime with a distant object in Earth's landscape. In our experience, it also worked well to use the moon to align the finder scope! (Find more details through YouTube research)-The moon itself can be a source of light pollution for the planets, so using the moon to align the finder scope has that trade-off. However, we were still able to see Jupiter's Galilean moons and Saturn's rings with both planets being near a waxing gibbous moon!-Interference can come not only from light pollution (which we expected) but also from temperature changes, vibrations in the ground, and the "wavy" effect of the atmosphere. Among other things I'm sure.-There isn't much support from the source company, so astronomy YouTube videos are your best help.Having learned all these things, we were able to see faint Jupiter stripes, the Galilean moons, and Saturn's rings on our third try and were elated! Here's a blurry pic of Jupiter with its moons that doesn't capture the fact that we were able to make out faint stripes! We haven't tried the smartphone accessory yet, but it appears to be for helping you align your smartphone for better pics. Very happy overall with this telescope!
