Love these binoculars. I have been watching the hawk mother and her babies all day (at about 50 yards away). I like these so much that I'm ordering a second pair to have at my mountain house to star gaze and bird watch. Great binoculars for the price. But you definitely need a tripod (the adapter comes with the binoculars so don't order another one).

Bought two, one for a grandchild and one for a neighbor's grandchild so they can share in the fun of exploring the world. Soft plastic around the eyepiece makes these binoculars safe and comfortable.

Exactly what it says - a great bit of kit. Not small but fine for me and with only one eye it is much easier than binoculars.

Now years later, I still do . . . . . . I loved these binoculars immediately and still do. I live on a hill top a few miles from the ocean. With these it is no problem seeing the ships out to sea as well as the moons of Jupiter. I think the binoculars do a fantastic job but you need to get a heavy duty tripod. The binoculars are just too heavy for so many of the tripods. If you want a tripod, look for one that clearly advertises it can support a 10 + pound pair of binoculars. Many of them are rated only up to 5 pounds. Most are also not designed for binoculars, but for telescopes and cameras. Telescopes and cameras have flat, non-moving bottoms. Binoculars move as you squeeze the eye pieces closer together or further apart. This changes the position of the bottoms of the binoculars that can cause them to bump up against the hardware on the tripod. Look for a tripod that is designed for binoculars. Heavy binoculars! You'll probably end up spending a few more bucks than you planned, but go for it. They are great binoculars. A super purchase.(Rather than the tripod recommended on the site, I purchased the Orion Paragon-Plus XHD Extra Heavy-Duty Tripod Stand for Binoculars. I am much more pleased with this one. You get many nice additional features besides the extra strength. Some have called it too heavy. I find it about the easiest one I've used. For just a few bucks, you can also buy a little metal extension sleeve and screw to raise the binoculars a bit higher off the platform).

Based on other reveiws of this item I wasn't sure what to expect in the way of the workmanship of the binoculars. But, within a minute of opening the box, I was enjoying the use of them! Based on price alone, the lenses provide a bright, clear view of objects . . . much better in fact than what I expected. The only thing that is worth mentioning is that the strap that comes with the binoculars is a joke. I threw mine away, bought two 5/8" split rings, which I hooked onto the strap anchors on the binoculars and use one of my Op Tech padded camera straps. Also, the rubber eyepiece cover is a little strange in that it really doesn't fit the eyepieces. All-in-all, one of the best bargains out there. Only time will tell if the binoculars continue to perform to standard.

Bought this for my carson 10x50 ed binoculars. Perfect tripod for this! Can grab with one hand and go. Very portable and steady for regular binoculars. Becomes unstable with 20x80's but works perfectly for what I bought it for.

With a vision problem in one eye this monocular was a welcome alternative to binoculars. My clear sited friends often borrow the monocular because of its superior optics.
