This Insta magnetic camera mount arrived in a small, branded cardboard box that also includes a GoPro type snap mount and instructions.Although this is marketed for the Insta X5 I’m using it with an Insta 360 Ace Pro 2 and it’s a perfect fit. It’s solidly built and is has all aluminium construction.Connection to the camera is quick and easy and the connection is solid. There is a small locking lever on the front and when this is pushed down the side buttons can not be pressed in to remove the camera. Once the locking lever is pushed up the mount is easily removed from the camera by pressing the two protruding buttons at either end and these are easier to use than the recessed buttons on the original mount.There are two small flaps underneath that are held in place magnetically. When these flaps are folded down the mount can be attached to a standard action camera mount. When the flaps are folded up there is a standard ¼”/20 threaded hole so it can be mounted on a tripod, magic arm etc. This makes it much more versatile than the original mount.I already have a couple of similar mounts with fold down flaps but this is smaller and what really sets it apart is the locking lever that gives you peace of mind that your expensive camera is securely locked in place.I’m impressed with the usefulness, quality and versatility of this mount and whilst it’s not the cheapest at £24.99 the build quality and materials are very good. Because of that and the locking lever it gets 5 stars.
