Quick filter change without fiddling
I was looking for a filter system for my camera equipment that wouldn't take up too much time on the go – screw-in filters are simply a hassle in the long run. That's why I ordered the magnetic set from K&F Concept.
My first impression: very clean workmanship, the metal rings seem robust, and the glass is high quality. The adapter stays permanently attached to the lens, and the filters (CPL, ND2–ND32, Black Mist 1/4) can be attached or changed magnetically in seconds. This saves a tremendous amount of time, especially in changing lighting conditions. The CPL filter provides more vibrant colors and reduces reflections, the ND filters reliably extend the exposure time, and the Black Mist gives portraits or highlights that slightly soft, cinematic look.
In use, I noticed that the filters are color-neutral – no distracting color cast, minimal vignetting, and still unobtrusive even at 24mm. Only at very wide focal lengths is there a slight darkening visible at the edges. The magnetic lens cap is also practical, as it protects the glass at the same time.
The included case is compact, sturdy, and has enough space to keep the filters safely separated. The only minor drawback: an ND32 filter isn't always sufficient on sunny days; I would have liked to see more dense filters included in the set.
Overall, though, it's a clever and versatile system – ideal for travel and quick filter changes while filming or photographing. A worthwhile investment for anyone who doesn't want the hassle of constantly screwing filters together.
