Works with 12 pro max + case but fussy at first
To be honest, I had a bit of buyer's remorse after the initial set up.The gimbal wouldn't activate itself correctly. I would get the beep error and it would shut off. I thought maybe it was a battery issue but it was having a hard time orienting itself even though I centered the phone in the middle as it said in the setup guide.2nd time, same error so I let it charge just in case the indicator was giving a false full charge signal. 3rd time same error but I gently flicked my phone and it calibrated and started working correctly.So heads up if you're planning to use this with a 12 pro max or another phone around the same weight class or a lighter phone with lens and other attachments. One review video used a 12 pro max in a case with an attached lens and had good results so keep that in mind. The official payload rating is 280g.I haven't played around with the native app so watch some reviews about how to use it or guides are available within the Hohem app itself.What I do like is being able to use my own photo and video apps while the gimbal is still working.One warning is make sure to check for everything that comes with the box. I happened to not notice the wrist strap because of how light it is and how well they tucked it into the compartment where the gimbal bag was placed in. I actually threw it in the recycling bin without realizing it and fortunately recovered it after watching a review video.Another thing that was really nice of Hohem was the USB cable they provided. Out of the box, it seems like any other USB A to C cable so I tossed it with my other cables. It wasn't until I watched a review video that I learned it's actually a C to C cable with a USB A adapter already attached. I like not having to sacrifice my current stock of C to C cables and I only have one C to A adapter so it's nice to have another spare.This gimbal comes with it's own tripod attachable by threaded mount. Toss the tripod and you can attach the gimbal to your own gear.

Wow they changed from the 1st to the hero black ar
Wow for all the upgrades and changes GoPro made!! All I can say is epic. I hated the very first GoPro. I ended up leaving it on the shelf and eventually gave it to my brother. But the hero 8 black is allot, I mean drastically different in the user friendly profile alone. You can Bluetooth your videos up to your preferred device as long as it’s Bluetooth capable or is the micro SD card. If I was to stretch for a complaint I would only have two. 1 being battery life sucks when you shots in 4K and use the Bluetooth on to link to your phone, especially if your previewing what it’s recording (btw This is epic option they added). And the hyper image stabilization. When your running all these added features the battery dies in about 30-45 minutes, and the GoPro gets a bit hot to handle. I have turned some of these functions off prior to recording and the battery life does improve, plus the camera doesn’t seem to get near as hot as fast!

Better than the ATC 2K
I bought this to replace my ATC 2K that wore out after 4 years of use (rubber deterioration and some mechanism breakage).This model is obviously an improvement based on lessons learned from the ATC 2K.The menu options on the 5 are easier to manipulate because of the video screen. There are fewer video format options one the 5, but I am fine with a binary 'big' or 'small' choice. The battery hatch securing on the 2 eventually broke. The battery hatch on the 5 looks very robust but at the price of being harder to manipulate (requires the use of a coin to turn the securing screw).The camera 'on/off' button, in fact, all the buttons on the 5 inspire more confidence as to their robustness. On the 2, one of the 3 buttons (the menu) button was beginning to fail intermittently. I'm hoping that the 5 gives longer service than the 2 did.I would have sprung for the Oregon Scientific ATC 9K HD model but a 1.5-2 hour battery life using non-standard batteries was unacceptable.. with the 2/5 and a pack of AA rechargeables I could record an entire day's motorcycle ride of 8-10 hours or so with minimal investment.

Purchased two of these last December as gifts and
I'm not an action sports guy myself at least as far as cameras. I'm a dSLR and iPhone shot guy. But I did have 2 relatives in Mexico ask me for the "GoPro" gift for Christmas 2019. I was like no way as in mucho bucks ......... But I did look at this Akaso model and was struck with the fact that a huge amount of accessories were included for a few bucks more than the basic camera alone and that they were affordable and touchscreen.So the first one went to the 12-year-old niece's son who went nuts over it and wanted to photo his mom doing hair styling as her second job much to her amusement. And the second one went to a 40-year nephew who is a BMW biker who promptly sent videos of his rides up and down southern Baja. So far splash-proof but neither has been deliberately dunked in water but they have exceeded expectations so far.Five months later both gifts are going strong and I remain the favorite uncle. A strong recommendation.

Great product and best service by online!
Work as described once I figured out how to use them...at first I misunderstood so I contacted the support, they sent detailed institutions to help but I’m not good with written instructions....I learn best by seeing so they sent a very helpful VIDEO guide and I tried again and they worked perfect.It was actually simple1)there is 2 buttons, one on the right arm of sunglasses for the bluetooth function and other on bottom edge for for camera function.2)Also only the right micro usb is the charging port, it is marked with the charging icon and it takes a 32GB.I wanted them for my vacation but it was postponed because of covid so my nephew who is a skateboarder wanted to borrow them and asked if I would gift them to him for his skateboard jumps and tricks so I let him and now I have to get another pair for myself...At least he is finally happy with a unique gift that he enjoys.I’m Happy with the purchase and can’t say enough about the friendly fast support.

Image quality WOWED me.
The image quality absolutely WOWED me. I only replayed it on my phone screen which isn't 4k but the test run was in my lamp lit master bedroom. I panned from the bright light environment around to the dark corners. The dark corner was great. I expected massive amounts of grains & awful exposure but this camera really used whatever light from the lamp behind us and recorded the dark corners the way I saw them while doing the panning. Everything you see in description is here for various shooting scenarios. I gave 4 stars because the case could be a little bigger it's really hard if not impossible to fit everything inside with ease. I don't like feeling like I have to do a jigsaw puzzle when it's time to go!! Otherwise, very small & light, so light my t-shirt collar could hold it & it recorded in mp4 default so the phone had no issue with playback. Everyone have a wonderful day. Thank you.

GoPro is a quality and a great buy
I bought the GoPro Hero about six months ago to capture my wedding vows. I wanted something easy to use that would be fun to use for all kinds of family stuff as well as some gigs (I play music too). Picture and sound quality were important and I have been happy ever since.Pros - Quality picture and sound. The ability to see the screen from my smartphone. The "Quick Movie" feature is great too. All the accessories and associated apps are solid and the underwater feature is super fun!Cons - The placement of the SD card is sketchy. Be VERY careful to insert it in the correct place, do NOT force anything and most important...do it in a well-lit area!Finally, the customer service is great. When my SD got jammed in the camera they had me send it in and gave me a no hassle replacement. In fact, they upgraded me to a GoPro 5! It has more features and I love it.Anyway, I think the product is amazing and the company goes above and beyond.Good Luck.Joe

Outstanding action cam for the $$
I tried out a less expensive Amazon private branded cam a few years ago that was sub par to say the least. I almost decided to drop the $$ for one of the more popular national brands, but figured I'd try maybe one more on Amazon based on reviews. I was pleasantly surprised at the overall build quality, weight, and packaging right off the bat. What shocked me even more was the video quality at 4k on a mountain bike mounted to my helmet. Image stabilization was impressive. It's not as good as the newest high end go-pro, but it's also far far more affordable and I'm not trying to win a Shred-it contest with my personal videos anyway. I tried it out as a dash cam, but mounting was the only issue for me (my trucks fault, not the camera). The video quality and image stabilization once again was excellent. I've had it for a number of months now and I can say the batteries are still holding same charge and no weird issues thus far.

Ottima action cam al giusto prezzo
L'action cam è arrivata in ottimo stato, fornita di tutti gli accessori per montarla eventualmente su casco o bicicletta, di un telecomando per controllarla da remoto, di un microfono esterno e di due batterie da 1200 Ampere. E' presente anche una custodia impermeabile per utilizzare la camera sottacqua. Le dimensioni dell'action cam sono ridotte ed è abbastanza leggera: pesa poco più di 50 gr. Per utilizzarla è necessario acquistare una micro sd da 64 GB o inferiore da formattare prima dell'utilizzo.E' molto intuitiva nel suo utilizzo anche per chi, come me, non è esperto di action cam e di fotografia in generale; le foto e i video registrati in 4k sono di ottima qualità .Per il prezzo pagato sono molto soddisfatta del mio acquisto.
