I have had a pair of 7 x 35 Bushnell binoculars that I have really enjoyed using forever. They are coated, gather light well, and focus fast. Therefore the first thing that I did was compare these new 12 x 42 binoculars with them. I think that the new binoculars meet or beat my old Bushnells in every way. They both gather light well and present clear and sharp images. However, presumably because of the greater magnification I can see even finer detail from the same distance when looking at the same objects. The price was very fair and overall a much better deal than my very old Bushnell's, especially after I clipped the 10% coupon. I am very happy so far. I really got these for photography though because I saw the great pictures that other reviewers posted online. I have not yet had a chance to try this out. My hands are too shaky and I am doubtful that I can get a good image. However, I was delighted to learn that the seller includes a card inside with a free prize and they have told me that they are giving me tripod and adapter that I believe I need to take good photos. I hope to be able to come back and update my review with great pictures like others have.
