We bought this based on the reviews hoping it was a good unit. I was highly disappointed in the quality. It is designed with useful features but the camera quality is very poor. Operates like a very low resolution camera. Day time use the colors are horrible and the night vision is ok but the white balance is poor making it hard to see when there is a lot of white such as blankets around the baby.The biggest problem I have is the unit shuts off and goes into sleep mode in like 20 sec even when you are pushing buttons actively using the device. I was moving the camera and sleep mode pops up right in the middle. I have gone through the manual and all the settings and nothing changes that. So if I wanted to have the monitor on sitting next to my laptop or my desktop while I am working to watch I can not do that. While it is in sleep mode the microphone still works so I could her the baby crying or making noise only.The range on it is so so as well. We have the camera in an upstairs bedroom and it works to the downstairs living room which is straight line of sight nothing in between. However, if we take it into the bedroom downstairs the walls are enough to interfere with the signal and we lose it.
