We mounted ours on an old metal pole on top of the roof. Used zip ties mainly to secure it to the pole. Works like a charm so far!

No not a multi channel station. However you can add up to 3 additional individual sensors for temperature, not included with the kit.

The wind direction is why it needs to point north and the solar panel will work better facing south. But it will work in any direction.
