I am a former television director and have enjoyed astrophotography for several decades. I've been using a Bogen Manfrotto 3051 professional tripod with a 3063 head. I've used many professional tripods in my career.I ordered this K&F Concept 72 Inch Camera Tripod as my 3051 is quite heavy to pack into remote locations to do my astrophotography. This smaller and lighter tripod wants very much to be perfect but stops just a few very minor features short. That said, it does have several features not found in my 3051 that I'm liking very much. With that in mind, here are my pros and cons:PROS:• It is Lightweight. I don't mind attaching this tripod to my backpack and hiking it into location. This is one of the major selling points for me.• A very compact yet sturdy design (seem my comparison photo of this tripod next to my 3051).• Easy deployment of the multi-angle legs makes short work of getting set up.• Mostly solid aluminum construction (where it counts).• Comes with a very nice and durable carrying bag with strap. This will keep dust, dirt, and a few raindrops from getting into the tripod.• It is a solid platform for shooting astrophotography, which requires that there be no instability. I usually don't extend the third, smallest section of the legs when shooting the night sky.• It is both a monopod and tripod in one. This is a very desirable feature for me. I have a Bogen Manfrotto monopod too but with this tripod, I don't have to drag both around.• The center column can be added to the monopod to extend the height.• The center column can be inverted for doing macro photography.• The ball lock knob, when loosened, allows the center column to telescope to twice its original length. This allows you to get the camera well overhead.• It allows for landscape and portrait orientation when shooting.• The ball head makes for very quick changes in orientation. While I don't do many many orientation changes, I think it would be ideal for a wedding or landscape photographer.• The ball head has a separate knob to lock the head in the panning axis.• The ball head has a single cutout that allows you to position the camera 90° from horizontal.• The pan adjustment is calibrated in degrees. This is especially nice for shooting astrophotography because I often orient by degrees from the North. The degree tick marks properly orient along the horizon plane (45° = East, 315° = West). I always set up with the zero tick facing geographic North.• The central column rotates 360 degrees and provides a stable plane for taking panoramic shots. It also doubles as a handlebar.• It has a counter-weight hook - a feature usually found only in high-end tripods.• Most adjustment and lock knobs are metal where it is needed.• Articulation of the ball head and other moving parts of the tripod is smooth.• It supports the weight of my camera, which has a heavy battery pack.• The camera plate adjusts forward and backward to balance the camera.• The orange and black color scheme looks professional.CONS:• The camera plate needs to be a bit larger and provide a better tightening arrangement.• The leg flip locks are plastic. I see this as a potential failure point for the tripod. I hope the manufacturer sells replacements in case I drop the tripod on a rock and bust a flip lock.• The monopod lacks a quick vertical adjustment trigger. In some shooting scenarios, I would want one.• The camera plate needs a lock pin for use with video cameras to avoid loosening of the plate after numerous pans.Parting thoughts... I enjoy using this tripod and will be using it for most of my astrophotography (and other photography) in the future. It is lightweight, sturdy, and solid. The cons weren't such detractors that would cause me to take any stars off of my final five-star rating. If you want a very nice prosumer tripod, don't hesitate to buy this one.

I have been shooting for about 12 years now, and after going thru some really bad tripods, I had to end up with a $600 Manfrotto Carbon fiber which I LOVE.This tripod for its price is VERY close to a high end one. Super light, quite as close as my Carbon Fiber manfrotto, very smooth movement on the head, easy to set up, open, and close. It closes down so tiny, than it is amazing fro traveling. The option of having one of the legs a a monopod is magnificent, you have two in one.I feel the legs could be a little weak in my opinion, but understand they are made from aluminum and this is a tripod under $200 which could deliver as much as any other tripod from a good brand on the $400give or take.I feel I am going to give a little rest to my Manfrotto to avoid over use, and take this on traveling, if something happens, I am not losing $600.
A very nice, well built and designed prosumer tripod that offers a lot of value for the price.

I got this Tripp’s so I could have more stability while taking pictures with my DSLR.This tripod is absolutely amazing and 100% worth the money. This tripod works fantastically as a tripod and mono pod. The versatility is not matched by any other tripod in my opinion. It is very light weight and comes with a carrying case so you don’t have just carry the tripod around by itself. It folds up nice and small to save space. It’s light weight compared to other tripods which is a big plus. But I’m my opinion the biggest and best feature is the leveling bubble. It really makes stabilizing super simple.I definitely recommend this tripod/monopod combo. It makes using your camera a lot less stressful and in my opinion more fun k owing that the chances of an error are mitigated just that much more. Great product!! Very high quality.

So to preface this, I have a Dolica Proline tripod (https://www.amazon.com/Dolica-GX600B200-Proline-60-Inch-Aluminum/dp/B004XC3GWU) that I use regularly and love. Thus, I'm comparing this against a relatively high end and versatile tripod, but at twice the price, I'm going to expect more from this one! That said, rather than reiterating all the features that the listing already shows this tripod can do, I'll just list the few things that I DON"T like about this tripod, that really have me waffling between a 4 and 5 star review. I'm sitting at 4.5 stars, but don't yet know what it will be when I hit Submit here! So, in more-or-less decreasing order of severity:The main thing could really be the killer here. As beefy as the rest of this tripod is, the leg lock tabs feel like really weak plastic, and the way they lie, I'm really worried that they're quite likely to catch on something and get broken off. This is what's really pushing me towards removing a star.I'm disappointed that the removable camera shoe doesn't have a safety lock (that's a spring loaded pin that keeps the shoe from falling out of the saddle when you loosen it). Even cheap tripods I've had included for "free" with a camera kit have come with a safety lock shoe. That seems like a pretty major oversight for such a feature rich tripod. (Of course even better would be a universal shoe that would swap with my Proline!)The way the tripod folds up for storage is neat, but it also makes for a HUGE cross section of the tripod case. I don't really know that they could have made the profile any narrower for the overall size of the elements here, but it makes it several times the size of my Proline case. Now there's a cost for the versatility, but I'm going to have to really WANT to have all of those features to be dragging this around with me. My fear is it will spend most of its time gathering dust in the closet because it's just so darn big. Weight's not insignificant either, but that's to be expected. The legs are incredibly stiff. Opening the tripod the first time I kept looking for how to release the ratcheting leg locks that MUST have been holding it closed. Well, no, it's just REALLY stiff. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but not knowing it was just stiff, I was afraid something would break. I don't know if it will loosen up or not, but the other side of the stiffness is that you may be assuming a leg is locked in the ratchet only to discover it's just the friction of the legs. That could be bad.At any rate, beyond all that stuff, which for some may be nitpicking, but when you rely on your tripod, could be a big issue, the tripod looks like a nice solid well built unit with some really neat features. Some of the nested mechanisms are pretty ingenious, although I do hope they're up to the environmental conditions they'll be exposed to. If a bit of dust or sand could potentially foul up just one part, that whole complicated assembly could be useless. Hopefully I'll find a use for all those features!

I recently had a chance to use a variation of one these tripods. The one I played with had an extra leg segment and was at least 2 feet taller than this one (the tallest tripod I ever saw - could barely reach it fully extended!). I really loved that tripod, but having one that tall didn't really have a benefit for me so I was excited to find that this one was available - same quality and features, just a more standard height for a little bit less money. Now, I've never been one to spend hundreds of dollars on a tripod, but I have owned at least a half-dozen really goods that are in this class , but this is the most impressive of them all.Its flexibility is unsurpassed - from all the standard moves, to being able to inverse the legs or the center trunk, and for the telescoping transverse arm that can be used for product photography or macro photography. I attached a heavy DSLR with a mid-size lens at the furthest extended reach and it held well. It can even convert to a monopod, but I haven't tried that and it looks a little complicated. The ball heads (2!) for the transverse arm and the standard one for holding the camera are very good and lock into place tightly without any significant play. All the controls are of better-than-standard quality: the cool colored aluminum, to the nicely textured rubber bits.10 years ago, if you could even get a tripod this nice, it would have cost twice as much (or more). This new crop is a great value, with this being one of the best.Yes, you can get lighter, but for such a full-function tripod, this isn't bad. All aluminum. Lighter would mean losing the features that give this such value, or paying many times more in price. In my limited time playing with it, I cannot imagine a better tripod in this price range. If you can afford it, I'd lose all the junky economy tripods, get this one for studio or local photography work, and maybe a low-feature, but ultra-light if you're into hiking/backpacking landscape photography. If I could only have one - this would almost certainly be the one I'd keep of my half-dozen different tripods.Hope this helps!

This tripod has all the most wanted features - it’s lightweight, so easier than most to carry to remote locations - it folds up quickly and sets up quickly with no wasted motion. Most impressive is the obvious quality and the stability. This would be a great gift for a photographer.

Right out of the box, this K&F Concept tripod looked amazing. Build quality and materials are both impressive, with really well-thought out features. It blows away my Manfrotto MK294KIT, the main tripod I had been using to film my video reviews. It's also very lightweight, at around 4 lbs. If you're out in the field, every ounce matters. The amount of articulation and customizability is simply astounding, being able to be configured into any angle imaginable for your shot. The locking collars and knobs are secure and very easy to turn. All the joints have rubber gaskets so they won't lose their grip. The center column can be removed and used as a monopod, which makes is ultra portable and versatile for outdoor shots. My only complaint is that the mount plate is somewhat awkward to remove and put back on. What I like about the Manfrotto is that it has a quick release spring. Here with this K&F tripod, you have to twist a thumb screw and then slide the plate on or off. The mount is universal and can be used with any device that has the mounting hole, including kids cameras and cell phone holders.I also miss having handles. Handles offer better control and finer adjustability.Lastly, it comes with a nice carrying case with a shoulder strap. The zipper is straight-forward and opens like a duffel bag (across the top), unlike my Manfrotto case which is a pain to use.

This is a very adjustable tripod. It says 72 inches, but if I extend the top rod, I can get shots that are above my head. It's not designed to be used this way, as that's supposed to bend to the side for 90 degree shots, but it's great to know that if I need just a little bit more, this one will work. The 90 degree angle is great for getting straight down shots, or for shots right next to the ground. All of the locks hold well, and the ball head is very smooth, so I can use it for pan and tilt shots. It's fairly sturdy. I've used tripods that are stronger, but I've definitely used ones that were weaker. There's a little bit of wobble in the legs when they're fully extended. I wouldn't try to shoot dark shots in the wind without a good sandbag on the hook.I prefer flip leg locks, so I was happy to see that this one had them. Unfortunately these ones feel cheap. They work great, but they don't feel particularly durable. It's strange, because everything else on this tripod feels top rate. None of the leg locks have failed, they just don't exude confidence. It folds up into a nice package, and the carrying bag is made out of a strong material. It's lightweight, so it's easy to carry around. This is an ideal tripod for if I'm going on a hike, and are not sure what type of angle I'm going to need. Because it's so adaptable, I can get any shot I want, and I'm not really going to have to heave it around.Overall a great tripod.Highly recommended.

I did SO much research on different tripods and features and this one is just above and beyond! Every possible angle imaginable with the different features this has and it's very well built! not super lightweight because it's well made of good quality products but that little extra weight is SO worth it!
