82mm Fader ND2-32 (1-5 Stop) Variable ND Lens Filter Neutral Density Filter for Camera Lens NO X Spot Nanotec Ultra-Slim Weather-Sealed
SKU: KF01.1064
Typically you get what you pay for when it comes to camera gear but this product is one of those rare exceptions. I was very hesitant to purchase it based on the price but after watching dozens of reviews on variable ND filters I figured I would give it a shot. I have never been a fan of variable ND due to some of the image artifacts they are known for. I always used individual ND filters as needed which can be a pain when shooting run&gun video.I loved that this ND filter had hard stops to not go past the usable points of filtering and that they somehow eliminated the dreaded x shape in the picture. While photos may be able to recover from some of these artifacts it is much harder to get around them in video. So far I am completely blown away at how good this VND filter has performed. The picture quality as far as my initial testing has shown is stellar. Color cast seems to be at a minimum and there is absolutely no X shape or vignetting. To be fair I bought the 82mm size version and use step up rings on my GH4 and m43 lenses but so far even on the 62mm wide 14-140 lens visually the VND seems perfect. My only super tiny issue which is true of all VND filters is that turning a filter on the front of the lens while shooting video is very easy to accidentally get my fingers in the shot. Would be nice to have the option to screw in a tiny handle into the VND so I have something to grab onto and not get my fingers in the shot. Maybe something the manufacturer can consider for a future product.

Probably the best value I've ever come across for an ND filter. Materials seem durable, does not significantly shift color, and no banding. Used it to shoot the iconic I-5 car light streaks on my last visit to Seattle and the shots turned out perfect. You won't find a better variable ND filter without spending 3x as much.P.S. - i used the 82mm 2-32 with a Sony 28-70 GM f2.8

Good price point and very clear and not too much color tint, it's actually really well built and has a hard stop so you to go too far and get the X pattern. Very nice compared to some of the more expensive brands out there with crazy color cast.

This was a life saver when my HSS died, and had to use a regular speed strobe... I don't see any of the vignetting that others see... If you see it, just turn a little till you don't.

At this price point you can't beat the quality. I've been using this ND filter for months and have had some incredible results. The glass used produces very little if any distortion or change to the original image. The secondary benefit as an outdoor photographer is its durable and is not easily scratched. Would reccomend.

I received this product and was excited to tested on a GMaster lens. Unfortunately, the image coming out were not what I was expecting to see.1-) Lost of image quality. I did a couple of shots with and without the lens filter and results always show the image without the filter to be clear.2-) In between the two glass of the filter there seem to be some sort of liquid. Maybe reason why the image do not look clear. It appear to be oil applied to the rotation of the rings2- Quality, the product looks and feels decently made. But, do not expect similar quality of the other higher brands. I am sure K&F will improve their line of filter in the future.3-) Stops, the filter have a a rotation mechanism which prevent the rings move further the lower or higher stops. Which also void the X mark. Corner to corner look pretty good.Overall, is a good filter for those who are looking to protect their lens from the elements. For professional use there need to be some improvements.

I use this for video work and I have been suitably impressed by the build quality, the packaging and the way that it works with video! I've spent more for variable NDs and they're good but I don't think you'll find a better value for dollar spent for a variable ND out there than this filter.
