I recently tried a black mist filter for the first time. The results were truly impressive, exceeding my expectations. This filter produced a beautiful softening effect, which I found very pleasing. It also managed chromatic aberration quite effectively, enhancing the overall image quality. I am very satisfied with this new addition to my photography equipment.
its a must

I own a few of K&F Concept lenses already and this one adds to it. Fits perfectly. Functions the way it should, that’s even including during my phots/videos. The look is nice. I’ve always loved the way they package their products. It’s worth the value of funds.

The results from this filter are absolutely beautiful. It is well made with a metal ring with good threading and good glass. It threaded easily onto my lenses, and I used it with a couple different lenses (some I had to use step rings with). You do get a case with the filter, which is the one thing that I’m not completely sold on. The case has a good look, but I’m concerned that the filter kind of moves around in the case. Other cases I have are more secure, so I switched it to one of those. The filter seems very durable. I didn’t notice any vignetting, image degradation, or color casting. The effect is gorgeous. Highlights have a nice glow and slight softening. The shadows are richer. I absolutely love the effect. I tested identical shots with and without the filter and it does require a slight adjustment to allow in more light to keep the same exposure level. I’m primarily using the filter with my Canon DSLR cameras and I’ve used it for mainly still shots but also a couple videos. One wish list item would be a magnetic attachment rather than threaded, but not a huge issue. The results are the main factor and overall it is very impressive.

Fabulous filter for portraits and celestial portraits. I am a photographer that specializes in night photography. This filter is fantastic to make the colors of the stars pop! Like all K&F filters, this is well made and is a welcome addition to my arsenal of filters. Use it for people, landscapes and more. This is one of my favorite filters (and I have many) in my kit.
Everyone should have this in their arsenal

I’ve been testing the K&F Concept 72mm Black Diffusion 1/4 Filter for a few weeks now. First, the beautiful exterior box and interior storage bag provide a luxurious feel to the brand. Second, the product itself is quality-made - it feels luxurious. Lastly, although I’m not a photography expert, the filter did seem to soften and improve the photo when there is bright light (see attached "Without-Filter" and "With-Filter" images for a comparison).

A bonus: the product box can be turned into a frame! An ingenious repurposing idea!

I’m still learning the best situations for using the black diffusion filter, but thus far, I am quite pleased with the K&F Concept 72mm Black Diffusion filter.

The subtleness of the 1/8th filter is great. It creates just enough haze in your shots to make them feel dreamy and cinematic without making them seem too soft.

These feel very high quality and the case is probably my favorite filter case I have seen. There is a neat strap system that lifts the filter out so you don't have to touch the filter and make it all grubby

I'm a professional video producer, and I shoot a lot of interviews for marketing videos. Formerly for global tech companies around the world, and now for startups and smaller businesses in local markets. So LOTS of variety of situations and locations.

My main camera is a Sony A7iv. I like it for the versatility and the fact that I can walk down the street anywhere in the world shooting broadcast quality video, but I look like every other resident or tourist. My current main lens for documentary-style shoots is a Sigma Art 24-70mm, with an 82mm filter size.

One downside of crisp 4K video is just that ... it can be too crisp. I've manually dialed in a really nice picture profile that gives me beautiful highlight roll-off and a pleasing image, but I sometimes like to soften up the interviews just a tiny bit. One of the oldest methods is using some type of filter in front of or behind the lens. WAY back in early cinema, this could be gauze or nylon or vaseline in front of the lens, or even on the back of the lens. And when I was assisting on a commercial shoot I learned about stretching kitchen plastic wrap in front of the lens, holding it taut with a rubber band. Anything to make video look less video-y. I first became aware of black or beige promist filters when I started shooting TV in the 1980s, so I know this type of system has been around for a while.

I just received this nice K&F kit. From the look of it, it's similar to a black promist. I chose the 1/8th because it's the most subtle version (smallest black specks in the filter). And I'm really looking forward to using it. The glass looks crystal clear, and the rest of the workmanship feels solid and well-made.

The fabric protective case is a nice touch, and has a magnetic flap to keep it closed. The case has a decent amount of rigidity, but also a bit of flexibility, so the filter should be safe while also allowing itself to be wedged into your overstuffed camera bag. The 82mm filter screws on cleanly to my Sigma lens.

Cute, gimmicky idea with the shipping box: They include a piece of card stock, pre-scored so you can fold it into a stand, and with tape strips on the back. If you fold up the card, and remove the foam insert from the box, the gold foil bottom portion of the box can be used as a picture frame or shadow box. Nifty idea, although neither of my 20-something daughters was interested in taking on that craft project.

High quality 1/4 Black Diffusion mist filter from K&F Concept. It comes in a handy case and screws in easily to a camera lens. Yields softer mist like results when used. Price is rather high but if the filter effect is one you want then it might be worth it. Softens highlights, creates a sort of glow effect, but could also be created in post without the filter IMO. Dreamy and soft, like a vintage lens with some internal haze. This is a quality filter that is nice to have in your arsenal of filters.

I've attached a video where I've taken an image without any filter and compared it to this filter (Black Mist 1/8 Strength). From what I can tell, there is no color cast and reflections are carefully controlled. All you will see is the Misting Bloom character that radiates off certain materials.

The feel of this filter is superb, and it screws onto the lens with ease. The profile is also thin enough to add a magnetic thread adapter if you have gone that route. You get a microfiber cloth as well as a quality "suede" filter pouch for this. They do a good job on the presentation and with the right "look" in mind you can achieve what you are after.

Just in case you are wondering the lens I used and the settings:
Lens: Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8
Focal Length: 18mm
Aperture: f/9
