62mm Black Mist 1/4 + 1/8 Filters Kit Black Diffusion Cinematic Effect Filters Set with Multi-Layer Coated for Camera Lens Nano-Klear Series
SKU: SKU.1713V1
Another great value from K&F, though I have to concede that this is my first such diffusion filter, so I can't offer comparisons to other brands. Regardless, I feel that these are solid and well made, and first impressions are that these are very good in terms of coatings at this price point.
Overall, I feel like these diffusion filters are more of a novelty and artistic item, so to me, it's less important to have the absolutely best optical performance possible. but nonetheless, I don't feel that they notably distort or discolor the image, beyond the obvious desired diffusion effect. Colors still seem to come through neutral and free of excessive glare and flaring.
Only dislike is that they come in a sort of generic plastic storage box that lets them slide around freely, particularly if you're only storing a single filter at a time. But I guess this is sort of minor, and I should probably invest in a dedicated filter sleeve.

I'm a photographer who shoots both digital and analog. Sometimes, I really want a moody look to my black and white photos that is hard to achieve (for me, anyway) with digital. These filters add just enough diffusion to soften skin, add just a touch of halation, and increase the moodiness of a fog-shrouded scene.
There are two different strengths in this package - 1/8 and 1/4. They are screwed together when you receive them and both are fitted into a small plastic container. They were put together pretty tightly, but were easy to separate with a pair of filter wrenches. Screwed into a lens, or into a good quality step up ring, they screwed on smoothly without binding, and were easy to removed even when screwed on firmly. These filters did not create any color cast.
The 1/8 strength filter's effects are very subtle, and the 1/4 strength provides more of the look that I'm after. You can stack these filters for even more diffusion, but that's probably not a great idea in harsh sunlight, as you're likely to get some flare caused by light bouncing back and forth between the filters.
I've been impressed by the overall quality and aggressive pricing strategy of K&F Concepts. Each time I've picked up one of their products, it has been better than my previous purchase. If you want to add some diffusion to your photos or videos, this set of filters should definitely be on your list of possibilities.

I bought this for the times when I want a softer look doing landscapes or long exposures when out shooting and this filter works amazingly well.
K&F Concepts has always made fantastic products, I have many of their filters as well as a couple of their tripods and their quality is top notch!

Incroyable, diffuse la lumière de manière superbe, tout simplement

Diffusion filters like this come in "black" and "white." The white ones I like to call "bottom up" diffusors. They increase the brightness of the shadows as they diffuse.
A black diffuser is a "top down" diffuser, taking the highlights down slightly while softening the image.
Fits my Canon L-series lenses perfectly, and as a diffusion effect, gives nice image quality at a good price. In fact, where some types of filters are worth paying the premium, a diffusion filter is a place to save a little cash when you can. Since the effect itself essentially degrades the image to get a creative effect, so long as the creative effect looks good, you're getting your money's worth.
Five stars.
