K&F Concept Continues to Impress
I'm a photographer who shoots both digital and analog. Sometimes, I really want a moody look to my black and white photos that is hard to achieve (for me, anyway) with digital. These filters add just enough diffusion to soften skin, add just a touch of halation, and increase the moodiness of a fog-shrouded scene.
There are two different strengths in this package - 1/8 and 1/4. They are screwed together when you receive them and both are fitted into a small plastic container. They were put together pretty tightly, but were easy to separate with a pair of filter wrenches. Screwed into a lens, or into a good quality step up ring, they screwed on smoothly without binding, and were easy to removed even when screwed on firmly. These filters did not create any color cast.
The 1/8 strength filter's effects are very subtle, and the 1/4 strength provides more of the look that I'm after. You can stack these filters for even more diffusion, but that's probably not a great idea in harsh sunlight, as you're likely to get some flare caused by light bouncing back and forth between the filters.
I've been impressed by the overall quality and aggressive pricing strategy of K&F Concepts. Each time I've picked up one of their products, it has been better than my previous purchase. If you want to add some diffusion to your photos or videos, this set of filters should definitely be on your list of possibilities.
