For the price, this thing is incredible.Quality is totally fine for the price. The effect is most extreme when the dynamic range is greater, such as bright lights or backlit scenes. It's subtle enough to leave it on my lens and not even think about it. Image quality is great.

1/8 is the perfect diffusion. takes the edge off without getting all 'ethereal' or unrealistic looking. seems to help with Sony on making the digital feel less pronounced. only weird artifacting you get is at the super wide end, closer to 16mm (full frame) so i don't use it on my 16-35.

I already own a Tiffen Black Pro Mist 1/4 filter and bought the K&F set of two filters for a smaller lens as a supplement.
The effect is significantly less pronounced than with the Tiffen filter, but I don't see that as a disadvantage. The light is slightly broken up and shines subtly into the surroundings, but doesn't create such a strong halo effect. I personally like the result a lot and will use the filters frequently.
I think the price is very fair for a set of two filters in different strengths.

Excellent Filter for Softening Light
The K&F Concept 72mm Black Diffusion 1/8 filter is great for adding a soft, cinematic look to your photos or videos. It subtly diffuses light, reducing harsh shadows while maintaining image clarity. A solid choice for photographers and videographers looking to enhance their shots with a smooth, professional feel.

Nice addition to the kit for that dreamy, softer look.
It's fun to commit to the look while shooting even if these days the effect can be almost replicated with digital plugins. For this price I highly recommend :)

I also have a black mist from the more expensive and more popular brand but these do the trick well. I will consider K&F for future purchases.

Beautifully softens tones for portraits and rendered concert strobes and other powerful light sources well in event photography. A personal must have

I recently started using this mist filter with my Canon RF 24-70mm lens for video work, and I’m loving the effect it gives. If you’re looking to add that cinematic, dreamy feel to your footage, this filter is a must-have.

Cinematic Look: The biggest thing I’ve noticed is how it creates a subtle glow around highlights, giving my footage that soft, filmic vibe. It smooths out harsh lighting and makes everything look a little more polished and dreamy —perfect for a night time environment with lights.

Perfect for Lighting: If you're working with natural or low light, this filter helps create a gentle diffusion effect without washing out the image. It makes lights look more natural, especially street lights or practical lights in the background, giving them a soft, glowy effect that looks stunning on camera.

Build Quality: The filter is solid, feels durable, and fits snugly on my Canon RF lens with no issues. No noticeable vignetting, and I haven’t had any problems with color shifts. It's easy to screw on and off, and the glass quality is top-notch.

Easy to Use: It’s super simple to use for video—you just pop it on and start shooting. I’ve used it in both daylight and night scenes, and it always enhances the image without requiring major changes to my settings or lighting setup. Just a perfect addition if you want to add that extra flair to your footage.

Overall: If you’re into video production and want to up your game with a little more atmosphere and softness, this mist filter is definitely worth it. It adds that cinematic touch that makes your shots look more professional and polished, especially for portrait shots or any scene where you want that dreamy, moody aesthetic.

Both of these filters work wonderfully, on par with the much higher priced versions.
