I tried a couple of the cell phone based scopes, and none of them worked well. This one is dedicated to do one function, and it does it well. I've used it as a cylinder bore-scope, and it has a good display, and it's nice to snap pics of each cylinder, then use the sd card to transfer them to my computer to review in detail after the fact.

I use this to inspect the inside of the heat exchangers and after coolers on my boat. Picture is extremely clear. Only criticism is the case needs to be larger as it's a bit tough to curl the scope small enough to fit back into the case.

So versatile. The monitor makes a really good clear picture. The camera can really see almost everything around. Super controllable on the monitor. Photos and videos can be made. All this super stowable in the shockproof case. Really good and a clear purchase recommendation.

Great product for my electrician son to use when running cables. Has a flexible endoscope cable with good stiffness that allows for good camera control. 2 camera positions, one at the very end and others on either side; all have individual LED lights. Cameras display high quality images up close. These images can be captured by photo or video. Also records sound. One button to switch between cameras. Waterproof SD card included in the package. Overall fit for purpose, well made and easy to use.

Image quality is very good, brightness is easily adjustable, focus is very good. With 5mm you can get through almost any opening. The only thing that would top the device, if on the flex tube would be a mark that you could better distinguish the top and bottom. But that is done with a sharpie fix.
