Game-changer!
I bought my first Baofeng UV-5R+ many years ago and was happy with it then. This model has more power (though the 8 watts is not all that necessary in most situations), and a better antenna. The operation manual is written MUCH more clearly and is easier to understand and follow! The Baofengs share past generation equipment, unlike many of the "big name" amateur in HT radios. I'll never go back to those. There is no reason. Say what you want about the country where these are made, but the radio speaks for itself and so does the price!
