Possibly one of the best options at this range.
Out of necessity, and thoroughly assessing the feature set of this camera, I purchased this on a whim instead of using our other more expensive, heavier, and harder to operate body cam for touring Zion National Park over the past weekend. While clipping on, easily powering on/off as needed, we were able to focus on ourselves living in the moment more WITHOUT having to stop, grab/position a camera, and compromise our safety on a few of the more startling areas of our hikes. That in itself, was a priceless aspect of this purchase. You can actually get much more usage time than the stated 60 mins by occasionally charging with an external battery pack; we also have a 128 GB high endurance card inserted and didn't hit this threshold. To be honest, we weren't disappointed by the footage we were able to gain to show those who couldn't come with us.So more about this "keychain" sports camera--Although I'm not a videographer, for the realm of those looking withing this price range, and not needing more expensive features like IR, this thing IS the bees knees. It's light, does offer a stable image, & has a relatively intuitive interface that it connects with reasonably well through the app. I can tell it was designed by someone that realized many of us aren't going to spend a ridiculous amount for a GoPro, when there has to be better alternate options available. Regarding operation, and what's not very clear in the listing, is that it does turn on knowingly easily in the heat of the moment, and you should be able to see the long button on the side that just a requires a squeeze until the light flashes. I do own a body cam that's more expensive than this, with a much poorer interface for the consideration of 2 of my employees who are doing property management, and I would say I would rather them wear this, as not only are there better mounting options, but easier & quicker access to those clips. This is rated a little lower in megapixels than our current, but because the files are so large on our more expensive bulkier cam, it runs out of space to store them AND the files are take longer to transfer. I've realized there is a tradeoff to everything; when it comes to 4k for the average consumer, you've reached the threshold it's actually significant in transmission and also viewing.

Defenitely the best choice at this price
The comparison and tests were made between Flir TG165 and this HT-18Pros:- sensor quality, way more details than TG165. As you can see in the picture, more areas are marked in red for HT-18 instead just the facial area for TG165. The automatic high/low temperature point tracking is very useful and reliable feature- $409 retail price is another big advantage at these specs.Cons(not really Cons, more like something can be improved:- Too bulky. According to the tear down from the fellow from EEVBlog, an A33 modular logic/CPU board is used on the top of the customized PCB, which make the overall dimension larger, since good amount of body volume was used for enhance the rigidity. I understand this is the trade off your engineers made to expedite the developing process and reduce the risk. I hope you guys will get better understanding of the Chipset and have them fully integrated to your own PCB.- clicking sound(perhaps from the lens shutter?) is kinda annoying. It is claimed to working at 8Hz display rate but it is clearly not as smooth as what behaved on TG165 although it displays at 9Hz rate.- booting time is significantly slower than TG165- battery isn't that long consider its size. It lasted less longer than TG165, I understand there are more information to process. Please consider to use 3000 mah 18650 battery instead of 2000mah.- firmware needs to be polished.- another big disadvantage is the viewing angle, which is kinda narrow for me, compare the 50 degree for TG165 and 45 degree for flir E4. I have to keep the camera slightly further away from my PCB in order to have a good coverage.- Since the camera has both IR camera and regular camera, 2 image will only align well when the object is far enough. Compare to Flir E4-E8, who had their 2 cameras really close to each other, the HT-18 has its regular camera placed on top of the IR camera with farther distance. If HTI is willing to make some upgrade its lens module to reduce the distance in between 2 cameras while providing viewing angle to 40-45 degrees, it can be the Flir E4 upgrade option killer market killer :DOverall, I am happy with this product, and can’t go back to TG165 anymore.

Love it
Superrrr awesome telescope!! Especially for the price. My kids love it! We sit on our roof and stare at the stairs AT LEAST once a night. Clear lens and super easy to assemble. My 10 year old basically did it him self.

Great Value
We bought these goggles for our kids, and they both love them! Large area of visibility, and clear view. The lenses are magnetic, so easy to trade in and out. We are excited to have a lens for low-light skiing. Would buy again.

Great beginner telescope. Easy assembly.
This is a solidly built telescope. Easy to assemble and is quite easy to use. The instructions were easy to understand. A general primer on telescope magnification and lens use would have been helpful, but this is easy to investigate on the internet. Overall, it’s a great value.

Provided lense is just OK.
Automatic mode does not do well in shaded areas. Landscape shots are difficult to achieve with provided lens’s, however, It is possible with lots of minor adjustments, time consuming in manual mode. I would recommend manual mode for beginners.

So far the lens is great. Although some lighting situations cause a unsightly horizontal 'bar' across the frame. I'm not sure if this is a defect or just lighting, hearing different things on the line. But great pictures I'm happy with it.

Better than you think
I know that this is an entry level dslr, I know that it doesn't have some of the features of higher end cameras, but you know what...you don't need as many features as you think you do. Let me break it down:ISO max: 6400. If you need to shoot 6400 or higher, you need more light. Photos in most higher end cameras have too much noise at this level anyway. I don't shoot above 1600.Frame rate: 3 per second. I don't shoot sports, so this doesn't bother me. If I did shoot sports, I could still make this work. You don't necessarily need 10 frames per second to shoot fast moving things, you just have to think a little more about what you are doing.12.2 mega pixels. If you have done any research on MP's, then you should know that more MP's doesn't mean better quality. The lens has much more to do with quality. I get amazing picture quality with this. I had some 8 x 10's printed and they are crystal clear. I wouldn't hesitate to get larger prints either. Some people have complained that it "feels" cheap in your hands. Canon sacrificed some of the rubbery feel of the grip to get the price down. There is still rubber on the grip, though. I have been shooting with this for a year, I have no problem with how it feels. Fact of the matter is, you would get used to how a camera feels regardless, so unless you have had super rubbery grips before and just can't imagine anything less, than you won't have a problem.Screen doesn't tilt out. Sure, that would have been nice, but I got used to it and don't care.Screen is only 2.7", instead of 3" like the next model up. Big deal. Screen looks great.Max shutter speed: 1/4000 sec. This is plenty fast, trust me. I couldn't afford f1.2 lens to shoot with in the full brightness of the sun anyway. I rarely have to shoot that fast anyway, even with my f2 50mm lens, I still don't often get above 1/3200 sec.9 autofocus points, center is cross type. If you don't know what that means, don't worry. More cross type would be nice, but whatever. I trust my eyes, and I don't often use autofocus anyway. But when I do, its great. No dedicated DOF button. Again, if you don't know what that is, don't worry. If you do, you can customize one of the other buttons to do this, but I rarely if at all use it anyway. The battery life on this is amazing. I use my camera at least a little everyday, and when I really go out to use it heavily, the battery just goes and goes. I go weeks between charges. Additional batteries for this camera are only about $12 bucks anyway. It's not weather sealed. Big deal, I don't like walking around in the rain anyway. I have been out in light rain with no problems, but if I had spent a lot more money on a weather sealed camera, I would probably hesitate more to get it wet. Being out in the extreme cold in a dry bag hasn't bothered it either. This is a fantastic camera. I primarily shoot full manual in raw, adjustments are quick and intuitive, picture quality is amazing, build quality is great. I tend to take care of my things anyway. I carry this around in a neoprene case in my timbuk2 bag pretty much everywhere I go and it gives me no problems. The menues are easy to navigate, buttons are comfortable. I use it with a speedlight, works great. Here's a tip. If you are like me and don't have oodles of money, this is a great camera at a great price. The kits lens is fine, not great. I have the 55-250 zoom lens (less than $200 bucks), and I love it. Will it shoot in a very dimly lit room? Not very well, again, not a big deal. It actually has really great shallow depth of field at 55mm f4. Since I shoot in manual, I purchased an old nikon 50mm f2 lens, with an adapter (adapter on amazon for about $10), and it is awesome. Manual lenses on ebay are super cheap compared to their newer fully auto siblings. If you can shoot manual (which you should learn to do anyway), then this is an inexpensive way to get great quality lenses for a fraction of the price. My old nikon lens is 38 years old but shoots like it's brand new. I also purchased a step up ring on amazon (about $7), which adapts the nikon 52mm thread to canon 58mm, so I can use my canon sized filters and caps.Don't think that you have to spend more money on a dslr to get better pictures. This really is a great camera.

Awesome monitor
Picture quality is great. The zoom lens works great and can see things very clearly. Love that you can totally silence it but it has the light indicator on the side so you can still tell the baby is making noise
