Lightweight with Heavy-duty Quality
I have been searching for a comfortable pair of Bluetooth headphones with good sound quality for a while without success. I have some that are very light and comfortable but have muddled sound, and I have some that have really good audio quality but are heavy and sit on my ears and glasses, causing discomfort before too long. These were my third pair of Bluedio headphones I tried out and they are the goldilocks headphones for me.The packaging of these headphones was quite impressive. Any headphones that come in their own custom hard-case must be worth something. Inside the custom case were the headphones, a Micro-USB charging cable, an AUX cable, and a user manual. These are light headphones, but they are sturdy as well. I have no problem tossing them in my bag and taking them around with me. They have larger cups that go around my ears instead of sitting on them, which are more comfortable. The cups are lined with the usual "protein" that most headphones have. The headphone cups actually articulate as well, so they can move in a number of directions to fit your head just right. That was surprising and leads to excellent comfort. I have a pair of T2s and T4 from Bludio and each have more rigid cups. These headphones use a Miicro-USB connection to charge and an 3.5mm input for audio. The T4 headphones have a single USB-C port and an adapter cable, which I didn't like because I like to have the option to use a longer AUX cable or just the cable I always use, and with the first pair of T4 (which were defective and quickly replaced) the USB-C had some audio issues with the USB-C port. The controls are on the right cup, including the indicator light. When charging it starts red and goes to blue when fully charged. You have the usual options, volume control is up and down on the circle, next/previous is right/left, and the center button is pause and the multifunction on/off and Bluetooth button. Button presses are accurate and click in a satisfying way.One thing I was wary of is Bluetooth connectivity. I usually use Bluetooth because it's more comfortable and I can do things around the house while using my laptop as the media source. I like to get up and walk around and I use headphones for watching media and playing games. A previous pair of T4 headphones had considerable lag with a Bluetooth connection (Bluedio replaced the set and the replacements worked perfectly). These headphones had no lag using Bluetooth. Bluetooth range is excellent, actually above the stated range in my real-world testing. My source was my laptop in my basement and I was upstairs in my kitchen, 55 feet away, 12 feet up and I could still hear the audio without any distortion. I was pretty surprised as most headphones cut out as I get to my basement stairs. A few steps further and distortion did appear, but I was still pleasantly surprised. Connecting to Bluetooth is also a joy with these headphones. They paired and now connect to my laptop quicker than any other headphones or earbuds I have used. The "Bluetooth lady" even has to speak faster than usual to accommodate the quick pace of connecting.Audio quality on these headphones was excellent. These have a 50mm driver and 6 smaller drivers using a special metal shell. There are no electronic tricks or software sound enhancements to try to improve the sound, it's just good quality sound using a stable mechanical process. Why does that matter? The T4 headphones I used had an enhanced mode that did improve the clarity of the sound, but it also ate away at the battery life and had to be turned on and off as the headphones were turned on and off. The first day after testing them briefly the night before I found the T4 headphones dead because I left the enhanced option on. You don't have to worry about that with these, they simply work and they work for a long time, and even if they do die you can just plug in a cable that also just works. There is a "3D" option that adds a virtualized surround sound if you want, but it isn't fundamental to quality sound like some other headphones, and Windows has a virtual surround sound option as well so you can process the virtualization with a faster device. Battery life worked out to a little over 20 hours when I added up the time. I used my standard bevy of test tracks on these headphones and all I have to say is these headphones are actually worthy of ignoring the equalizer. Most headphones you need to tweak to get them to sound good, these you need to tweak to sound perfect.Overall, I am very happy with these headphones. They pair comfort with audio quality in a way that I haven't experienced with any other headphones.
