Solid but infinity focus issues.
Received this adapter earlier this week. So far I've tested with an A7ii and the following lenses:- SMC Pentax-M 50mm 1.4- SMC Pentax-M 50mm 1.7- SMC Pentax-A 24mm 2.8- Tokina 24mm 2.8Pros: Solid, snug fit. Seems well made.Cons: Infinity focus actually is before the infinity stop on the lenses I tested. The same lenses focus at infinity properly on Pentax DLSRs. Also the 24mm Pentax lens exhibits severe vignetting at close focus regardless of aperture; the image projected from the lens doesn't cover the entire sensor...UPDATE: The extreme vignetting with 24mm Pentax legacy lens (that is, a full frame/35mm film lens) was a result an unusual lens hood that the lens's owner was using. It looks like most, if not all, adapters of this type allow legacy lenses to focus beyond infinity so I am moving this from 2 stars to 4.

Awesome!
I paired it with my Canon 5D Mark IV and the result was awesome! Focus is very accurate and fast.I am very happy with this lens and highly recommend as an all in one use.

A huge upgrade from EFS 55-250 is stm.
Just received this lens and immediately inspected lens, Perfect no imperfections. Then took it out to compare against my 55-250 is stm. The photo on the left is with the new EF 70-300 and the one on the right 55-250. Shot on an 80D on full auto at full zoom from the exact same spot. The clarity of the 70-300 is so much better than the 55-250. The focus was super fast and dead on. The 55-250 AF was working hard to obtain focus. I wasn’t sure investing in the 70-300 would be worth the extra investment but I have absolutely no regrets. This lens comes in retail packaging and has the Canon warranty card. It’s brand new and not refurbished.

It is simply a nice upgrade from the 50mm f1
It is simply a nice upgrade from the 50mm f1.8 II if you don't want to spend more money. Build quality is much better and brokeh is smoother. auto focus is not as quiet as the 18-55mm stm but it is not as embarrassingly loud as the 50mm II. Manual focus makes a little loud and strange noise. Overall, it is a great lens for a mere $125.

Great! - we need more prime lenses like this
Great lens. Now has a metal mount, quieter and closer focus but still a reasonable price. The pictures are SHARP! Nice bokeh. Focus is good but not perfect. Wish Canon would give us more primes for this price range. I has a 50mm F1.4 a few years back and I like this one more.

Easy to use
I purchased the lens to take wide angle photos of my house project. The lens was easy to use and the picture quality was good - slightly out of focus on the left edge of frame; this may have been my positioning of the clip on my phone. The center field was sharp and the overall photo was great.

clear picture, manual focus works well
Focus is done manually by rotating ring on the lens, and it works well. Simple setup with windows and Linux. Use it for casual streaming and it works well for that purpose or video calls. Excellent price to performance.

Surprisingly economical fast lens with quite good
Surprisingly economical fast lens with quite good quality. My "workhorse" lens (18-300 macro zoom) is excellent for the range of images I take, but this one is so light I feel almost "lens-less". It has a quick and silent auto-focus response and sufficient speed to enable most of the low-level ambient candid work I like to do. While zooming would be nice at times, the fixed focus is what I started my photographic hobby with decades ago and forces me to be more thoughtful in framing shots. Good purchase; fits a niche for my more spontaneous moods.

Superb sharpness and surprisingly light weight.
I use this lens for product photography. I don't think I've ever used a sharper lens. Contrast and clarity are second to none. The VR combined with the IBIS and light weight make it remarkably hand holdable even at lower shutter speeds if you're in a pinch without a tripod. I would say it's probably a bit too sharp for a full time portrait lens, however the soft & swirly bokeh character is very beautiful. As with any macro lens, you do get a lot of focus breathing, so you have to compensate for that when focus stacking or doing video work. Bonus - it works well with the Meike extension tubes if you want to surpass 1:1 magnification.
