These binoculars are great. I never knew binoculars would work for stargazing, but they do. I can even see the texture of the moon. I love these things, I would highly recommend them. If you are getting these for astronomy, definitely get the tripod (I did not, but am searching one out now), stars tend bounce because they are so tiny. No matter how steady your hand is, there shaking from your breath and heartbeat.

I recently became interested in astronomy and purchased this set of binoculars, based on the recommendation of several amateur astronomy websites and books. They have been a great aid to learning the night sky and viewing objects or clusters that are not visible to the naked eye in my moderately night-polluted sky.The initial set-up was very easy: Put a lens cap over the right lens and focus; switch the lens cap to the left eye and adjust the eyepiece ring until the image is tack-sharp; finally, remove the cap, and you're in business. This can be done in less than 20 seconds.At first, I was holding these by hand - they are light enough to be able to do this. However, I found myself lying on my back and resting them on my eyes to steady the picture when I wanted to stare at a portion of the sky. Eventually, I purchased an adapter to mount them on my tripod, which vastly improved the viewing experience.So far I have enjoyed great views of the Andromeda Galaxy, Comet Lovejoy, Jupiter and four of its moons, Plaiedes, the Double Cluster, M44, and the moon in all its phases. Binoculars really are a great way to learn the sky for the first time, and this particular pair have been exceptional.

for 50 bucks, these are great binoculars. To be perfectly honest, the only celestial object i can make out in detail is the moon with this pair. It may be because i've only used them near my home where there are so many lights shinning from every direction. During daylight hours, i'm able to focus objects very clearly.

these children's binoculars are fantastic! they work well, and my 2 year old loves them!

We bought this Monocular for a recent vacation in the mountains of the north west and it works wonderful. Much easier than the binoculars we've had in the past and much more powerful. Great product at a fair price.

Have to keep an eye on suspicious characters on and off duty on my security job. Great for monitoring parking lots or observing someone in a crowd when binoculars will just call attention to your monitoring the situation.

For some applications​, it works better than binoculars. It is a bit heavy. The free tripod is useless.

The binoculars themselves are great, but they are astronomy binos and you need to use a mounting bracket to tripod mount them for stabilizing them. I knew this before I purchased them. I am only giving them four stars though because the tripod mounting bracket that comes with them is garbage. The slightest breeze or lightest touch and they become impossible to see anything through. I have other pairs with metal mounts and have no problems with them. If these had a quality mount, or Celstron didn't offer any mount with them at all I would give a five star rating but because of the inferior mount they loose a star.
