No aperture ring
Does what it says but it has no way to actually change aperture or even darken the lens.

Quick delivery of a great and functional product.
Instead of attaching this to my camera, I attached it to my 500mm lens tripod ring.

Amazing value
Great value for a lens. F/1.8 is a great aperture and really allows you to get creative with your photos and videos.

There comes a point in every beginning photographer’s career where they will need to upgrade from their kit lens. This lens offers more stability in low light due to its wider aperture, and it is monumentally better for portraits than the 18-55mm. At this lens’ widest aperture of f/1.8, it shoots nearly 2x faster than the 18-55mm at its widest setting of f/3.5 at 18mm and over 3x as fast when that lens is at 55mm. The build quality is terrific and the autofocus is fast and accurate.

Limited carmera and accessory
Within the context of macro, my issue is that the TG5 will not focus up close in aperture priority mode, which forces me to use this ring, which must be used in microscope mode, which means that the camera automatically sets the aperture to f/4.9, which creates a very shallow depth of field (even though the senor is tiny), which renders the RAW useless if I want a deeper depth of field because I am forced to then use focus stacking, which creates a JPEG. If I could focus up close in aperture priority mode I could then use a wireless flash, set the aperture at f/6.3, ISO to 100 and get beautiful and deep DOF with low noise. The ring itself works well, is a great idea executed beautifully, but still is not able to achieve my desired result.

Great little but powerful addition to Tough
This device should receive some kind of industry design award. It channels the builtin flash light to an even ring of LEDs for close up purpose. Must have if you plan to take a lot of macro close up photos. All the instructions listed in amazon assumes you know how to remove the lens mount on the camera so it was never mentioned. The full instruction to mount the Macro ring is as follow:1. Take your camera, put both of your thumbs on the two side of the lens mount (the ring that has a red dot on it).2. Turn counter-clockwise 1/4 turn until you feel the mount is released.3. Remove the lens mount.4. Position the macro ring on the lens by aligning the white dot on the micro ring to the white dot (7 o'clock position) on the lens. Turn clockwise until the macro ring intake cover the flash.5. Switch on your camera and turn the dial to the macro mode.6. Press down arrow on the OK dial and go to flash setting. Select the LED on setting.7. Take the camera facing you, press on the shutter release and you can see the macro ring lights up. You are all set then.Enjoy. . camera iton) lower right camera ote t.

Best For Portraits
The build quality is best. 1.8 aperture is best for portraits. The STM mechanism is fast and reliable for quite shooting. Enjoying the lens
