Good Quality, But I Had to Break the Glue to Unlock Its Potential
I own about half a dozen K&F Concept products, and while I usually have high expectations, this one was initially a bit underwhelming for the price—mainly because it seemed less versatile than it should be.Here is the main issue and how I fixed it:The "Permanent" Head: Out of the box, the magnetic Osmo/Action mount appeared to be permanently attached. I expect my gear to be versatile, so I decided to test the limits. I managed to unscrew the head (breaking the Loctite/glue holding it) and was relieved to find a standard 1/4-20 screw underneath. Why this matters: Unlocking that 1/4-20 screw makes this tripod infinitely more useful. Now I can mount my Osmo Pocket 3 or a phone mount to the stick, and I can use the magnetic quick-release head on other camera cages. I'm not sure why they decided to glue it down, but separating them makes this a much better product.Other impressions:Build: The telescoping sections are very stiff (friction hold, no locks), which I actually prefer for stability. The ball head is smooth, though unlubricated, so it might need a little break-in.Features: I really appreciate the extra 1/4-20 threaded hole on the side for mounting a mic or light.Size: It is a bit short for a dedicated selfie stick, but perfect for a travel-friendly tabletop stand. If you are willing to put in a little elbow grease to free the head, it’s a great piece of kit if you own the DJI Osmo Nano or action 6. If you aren't tied to those cameras I think you are probably better off with one of SmallRig or Neewer's offerings at this price point.
