I ordered this on a whim, as I often shoot with a handheld video camera and mount my iPhone on top as an external monitor or to shoot additional footage. I have a standard clamp mount and it's a pain to remove the phone from the camera in a hurry to shoot something else with the phone.When the box arrived I thought it was going to be too small, but it folds up into a nice size for travel. At first I thought the hinges on the mount were frozen in place, but they were not. The hinges are nice and stiff but movable when needed. They've also included a hex wrench to you can adjust the hinges to your specs. I'll be keeping mine tight as I had issue this week filming with my standard rig because when I tilted upwards the phone on it's bracket would swing towards me as the phone has a lot of weight. They clearly had this in mind when making this bracket, but there's still a some give when moving quickly. It's simply the weight of the phone and the distance it is on the mount from the base and that's physics for you. It's going to take some time to see if I need to keep tightening the screws in the hinges or if it will hold long term, but it's easy enough to tilt the camera back if it does move. It's not 100% locked down but good enough for most uses.The magnet that connects to the MagSafe area on my phone is strong and protected by plastic on one side to help prevent phone scratches and allow you to rotate the phone as needed. It's big enough to use the phone in both landscape and portrait. I tried shaking it around and the hinge moves long before the phone comes off. There's also a sticky metal ring included for phones that don't have a magnetic back. Overall I'm very impressed and it exceeded my exceptions so far. It would also work great for moving it to different tripods, clamp mounts, or suction mounts.
