The mount adapter is not permanent. I mean, once you put it on the lens, there is a way to remove it and switch it to another lens if you need to. I got this for a Nikon mount lens that I wanted to put on my canon mirrorless. It snaps on solid and secure. Holds the lens on the camera really nice. No shake or play. There is a small tab/button that you have to press in order for it to release from your lens. The release is a little tight but nothing that can't be handled by a 13 year old or older.

I wish the lens release knob was easier to access without taking off the mount form the camera side.

I will start by saying that I own a Nikon D3400 and I have about 20 different lenses for it. I found a Cannon T6 for 50$ but the seller didn't know if it worked. I purchased a set of batteries (20$) and THIS adaptor for it (to not spend another 50$ on a lens). It arrived quickly and I was excited to put this Canon to Nikon adapter on my Canon T6. I was bummed when it wouldn't lock in (the hole was a little too narrow for the lens stopper that my camera has) but thankfully I had a diamond wood carving tip that was small enough to shsve off a little metal (and make the hole wider). I did JUST that and it worked like a charm. To remove the lens, you have to eject the adapter first which is kind of troublesome. A thing I really didn't like was that the aluminum ring (the one that holds the actualy NIKON HALF of this adapter) is a little too wide (or too skiny) and the Nikon Lens Caps I have do not fit the adapter. That means that I havr to remove the adapter and use a Canon Body Cap or leave my lens on at all times. Both of which I don't like the sound of.Overall for 20$ I think this is definitely worth the buy. I have owned it for a few days and no issues yet. I'll keep you guys updated

This is a great mount for lenses that have a built-in manual aperture adjustment, not the best for AF lenses.

I dont know how folk are having issues... this comes off of my f lens mount 135mm with no issue...Just push in the button and twist...firmlyI like this mount... nice and confident fit on both the lens and body mount. This will be my go to for my Nikkon F cine lens.... really no need to remove.... buy one for each lens and call it a take.Cheers yaw.

This works well as an adapter between an old 600mm Nikkor lens mounted onto my 80D, but like many other comments, this adapter won’t come off my lens. I have tried for hours to get this off, and it’s stuck on there. Would not recommend buying if you want to be able to switch between Canon and Nikon. Only buy if you want this to permanently be a Canon only compatible lens.

It's definitely lighter weight, softer material, doesn't fit as cleanly/tightly as more premium "Pro" products, and I suspect will wear out faster. But it DOES work as advertised, and I think as long as you use it on smaller/lighter lenses, and don't swap it around from lens to lens a lot, it'll do the trick. Contrary to other's complaints, I've easily moved this adapter from one lens to another, with positive locking action on them all, both to the lens, and to the camera body. I've pretty much settled on leaving it on a Tokina 100mm Macro, all-manual lens. And it's working just fine there.
