The dark days are upon us again. This is the perfect opportunity to get creative with the city lights. Small and large markets are springing up everywhere, their lights inviting you to take photos. To capture this atmosphere, I ordered the K&F CONCEPT Starburst 4-Point Filter.

The filter is well-made. The images are clear, and the effect is limited solely to the light sources. Light bulbs, for example, appear as four-pointed stars, and the orientation can be changed by rotating the filter. Very harmonious and perfect for capturing the festive spirit of the upcoming Christmas season.

The filter is well-made and fits a 77mm thread perfectly, or even a smaller diameter with an adapter. A rectangular grid is engraved into the filter glass. This causes point light sources (e.g., candles, lights, stars, etc.) to produce a four-rayed star effect, similar to the diffraction spikes in telescopes. The filter ring can be rotated to adjust the orientation of the rays. The effect does not interfere with the camera's autofocus, making photography with the filter quite easy.

The filter is very nicely machined, and has a great matt finish. The ring rotates with a bit of a drag, as it should, and stays firmly in a position that you choose. There is large knurling on the moving ring, for a great grip.
