K&F has been making some excellent filters lately, and this vintage soft filter is another hit! I purchased my first filter of this style a few years ago and remember spending 3 to 4 times more for it than this one, and seeing the results side by side you'd be hard pressed to tell which is which. The filter fits perfectly on my 77mm lenses and couldn't really be easier to use. The 1/4 effect is just enough to not destroy your image but give you that soft, dreamy vibe. If you're looking to get this effect in your videos/stills, you really can't go wrong with this one.

I experimented with this filter on my Sony A7V. I liked the way it reminded me of the old film days. Your images back then were not tack sharp and had a nice glow or softness to them. This filter recreates that look. The nano-tech glass also keeps away fingerprint touches and water away, very easy to clean. The filter was easy to install and remove, no locking up on the lens. I love K&F filters! I have bought quite a few, for my camera and GoPros. They have come a long way in just a few years. K&F is my go-to filter source.

This vintage soft filter adds a little bit of softness to the image. For my test it seems to make the image just a little cooler also. The good thing is it isn't going to change anything so much that it feels gimmicky, but it makes skin tones more pleasing. This is a good addition for any Social media, or film maker. I used mine with a 1.7mm telephoto lens on my Iphone and I really liked the change it made. It will work especially well when there are lights in the background as they will bloom a little more and give a nostalgic look. Buy it for your kit and add the versatility for your filmmaking.

This vintage soft filter (Model No. KF01.3119) arrives sealed in a K&F concept branded cardboard box. Inside the box is the filter and a protective plastic case.
The filter frame is well made and has a good finish to it. The knurling provides a good grip and the thread is nice and clean. I had no issues taking the filter on and off the lenses I tried it with.
In use the filter worked well, and I was able to get some pleasing results. However it should be noted the effect is very subtle and is very dependent on the lighting used for your shot. For those wanting a less subtle effect, you might be better served by a combination soft and mist filter, or black diffusion filter.

The filter delivers the promised "soft" effect and is of the usual high quality. In certain situations, the effect is very pronounced – for my taste, a black mist filter is often a better fit. Nevertheless, this filter is a good addition to any photography equipment.
