Functions exactly as you’d imagine, you just hold it in front of your lens (carefully because it’s a chunky piece of glass) it’s very sturdy, K&F Concept makes really amazing filters and photography equip, their black mist filters are great, and this is no different, easy to use but I would also say that new photographers should be very careful with this around their lenses… it’d be easy to tap or nick your front lens element… which to be fair wouldn’t noticeably ruin your lens but will knock down any resale value dramatically.

Absolutely worth the price for creative photography!

The handheld filter is shaped like a half moon, with two finger holes for easy grip. I found it very easy to hold while also holding onto my camera. Granted, if you camera is kitted out, you may struggle holding it with one hand, but for its purposes, it does it well. Some samples below. It can add a diffused light reflection if you angle it the right way, or introduce some artistic blur to a side of your picture. After using this, I kind of wish I had one that is curved, so that I can create a nice blurry half bokeh, but this is plenty cool. Love it, and will absolutely be taking it out on my next portrait photo walk.

It's well made, and the effect is potentially very effective. It's like holding a pair of glasses in front of the lens with a clean transitioning border. Depending on the distance and use it can either magnify or blur what you are covering. It videos well also.

The filter does deliver the effect it advertises. I wrote in another review for a visual filter like this that the effect is subjective, and overuse is the fault of the artist and not the tool, and I feel this filter could be quite effective in the right persons hand. Build wise, the filter is very well made and the glass is nice and clear and does what it advertises.

This 100mm handheld split diopter from brand K&F CONCEPT is not one you would attach to your camera lens like a filter, but is entirely held by hand or screwed onto your camera cage or mount setup via 1/4 screw which is very unique and convenient if you are shooting on a video rig anyway.

The effect is called "Split" and it is quite unique, and similar to an old filter I broke the glass on purpose for the same projection effect over your image or video footage. The effect can be kind of dreamy, and many clients appreciate this as a fun change from the very day filter looks.
