Very useful for positioning photography components and similar devices with standard threaded sockets. I am using one to position a small solar power to keep the battery of a video camera charged. It works fine, but can only handle relatively lightweight items.

We never had these when I was younger. Then again we didn't have cellphones that needed to pair with our digital cameras because we didn't have those either. This thing is slick.

Bought this to marry up with my K&F tripod for the specific purpose of photographing sketches and drawings. With the accompanying phone holder, it fits the task perfectly. You will need to use the remote or timed camera function to ensure steadiness, but all in all a winner.
Also, this allows you to have you phone anchored to a tripod the same time as you camera and be able to use both.
