82mm Solar Filter ND1000000,20-Stop Solid Neutral Density Filter Celestial Event Photography Filter with 28 Multi-Layer Coatings Nano-Xcel Series
SKU: KF01.2583V1
Bought in preparation for recent solar eclipse, which I ended up missing. It did provide the ability to photograph AR3664, the Sunspot group that caused the auroras last month, in detail using my Nikon P1000.

Works great to view the sun. I bought it a month before the Eclipse in 2024 to get some practice before the Total solar eclipse. Now im hooked. There's lots of solar activitythis year since we're in the solar maximum so there's no shortage of sunspots to study. This filter helped me gain a newfound respect for our friendly neighborhood Nuclear fusion reactor in the sky

It fits well on lens, darkened enough... easy to take on and off and the package fits well in camera bag

I used this filter on a Nikon D5600 for solar eclipse. I was able to capture some nice shots of the event. I would definitely recommend this for anyone in the path of an eclipse.

I bought this initially to photograph the eclipse. I’ve not used it several other times, most recently to capture the sunspot regions on the sun. For the money it was a great buy to protect my camera.

For the price I paid, this filter absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. I bought this in preparation for the solar eclipse in Maine this year using a Tamron 70-300mm Nikon lens.
I didn’t notice any vignetting with my set up but I’m also pretty new to photography and I was shooting the sun so it was pretty much black everywhere minus the sun itself.
Image quality is great, there is some noise when shooting in such low lighting but is easily fixed in processing.
Only down side is it’s a screw in filter so in a shot that requires little time frame it can be stressful removing it and putting back on when needed.
For the $40 I spent on this, 100% best purchase I’ve made in years.

I knew I was probably only going to use it once for the solar eclipse. It did the job and didn't degrade much that I could tell. I didn't have my settings perfect in camera, but that's mainly the pressure of the moment. I only had three and a half minutes with zero experience with a total solar eclipse. I think it went well.
