Nice microscope, but it’s not one for serious users. I’m used to the old-school ones that weighed a ton and were pretty much made of cast iron or something similar. This one is much lighter, which might be a benefit for consumer use, but it definitely makes it feel cheap. I’m not sure it’s “professional laboratory grade” (which is what was in the description, so if it’s gone now, they at least took that feedback seriously). The body is metal, but all the eyepieces are plastic and featherlight.

In addition, some of the lenses have small flaws in them. Not enough to make it impossible to use them, but not great quality lenses.

The prepared slides are nice since it’s nice to have something to look at right out of the box, but they're not great quality either. Of course, if you want to prepare your own slides, don't forget to get some stain.

Overall, fun to have to teach kids/teens about science and see that it’s in their day-to-day lives and not just in the classroom, but not much more than for a beginners/hobbyists.

This is a nice microscope for a college student. It has a great set to get started. There was a minor defect in the three of the four. Minor but removing a star for qc.

This is a really nice microscope for a home lab and great for a biology student.

Pros:

I have always loved science but found it difficult to perform lab work because of my glasses and aging hasn't made it easier but with the USB Camera I can now see it clearly on my computer screen and save the images as I please; I only wish this technology existed when I was a kid. The quality and power of the microscope is high and not a cheap toy.

Cons:
The manual is poorly written, hard to follow, and gives incomplete information assuming you already understand the functionality of this type of microscope so I had to figure a lot of it by trial and error. The recommended software isn't included and they give you a hyperlink to type out in a web page and download but it didn't seem to work although I was able to find a copy by searching for it by name over the Internet. The software is free to download and use and works fine on Windows 10.

I followed the instructions in the manual to set up the USB camera and it didn't work so I contacted their customer support. They responded literally within two minutes and in short order the problem was solved. What is required and not stated in the manual is that you need to pull out the lever on the side identified in the diagram as a Connecting PC Computer Trolly for it to work.

This trinocular microscope has a great range in magnification with the lenses included. I really like the carrying case as well. There are good stage adjustments, to help get things in view. However, it would be nice if it could move down further.

There are a lot of accessories and options. However, there aren't very goo instructions for setting things up and using them.

The software works, but is outdated. You can also use other software that accepts usb camera input.

The amount of light could be better. You can see, but it would help sometimes if it was brighter.

The focus could be better, sometimes it's hard to get it just right.

The quality in image was really good and I do think it’s worth the money. You should get yourself one if you’ve been looking for a microscope like this it is a good starter and the focus on it is great. It is very easy to use. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This microscope is a marvel. My nephew is starting high school this year. His school suggested that a microscope would be a good investment. This one does everything and can connect to a laptop or phone. The magnification is amazing and can peak anyone’s interest in science. This microscope will be a game changer for any student. Highly rated.

I have used microscopes quite a bit both in university and at work. This is a pretty good microscope, especially for the price. Everything functions as well as a much more expensive research quality microscope, but it isn't built as well in a way you can just feel. However, given the fact that microscopes are delicate and treated with care regardless this seems more than capable of standing up to a lifetime of heavy home use and probably even decades of research use. It is a well built, though obviously economically built microscope.

My biggest complaint is the proprietary power source plug. In a world where everything is usb, having a port type adapter with plug was just a poor choice. Not a huge deal, but certainly an odd choice that doesn't make sense for a microscope much more likely to land on the desk of a hobbyist than professional.

The monocular is close to being in the same focal field, but not exactly. This will work very well for an added (separately purchased, reasonably priced) camera insert. The smartphone attachment kinda works, but really isn't practical and doesn't provide great images or images easily for that matter.

There weren't instructions, and if you aren't familiar with this type of microscope that could pose some issues - but instructions are easy to find online and shouldn't discourage you from purchasing this for yourself or your science inclined teenager.

For the price, this is a great high magnification optical microscope with the easy ability to expand into high quality photos and videos if you are so inclined.

We got this microscope to teach the kids about the tiny things around us. My wife is a biologist and taught all the rest of us how to use it. She was impressed. It has a ton of attachments, slides and even a kit of samples you can check out. We've had a lot of fun with it, and a huge bonus is that it has a carrying case and is compact enough to take on outings.

I got this microscope set for my daughter. She loves science and this made her happy. It is a great quality and is good for kids. I am very happy with it and so is she.
