Love it so far! Dont forget to buy some slides. Great clear image once you get used to how to use it and its focus.

As a child I had no real interest in science or looking at things through a telescope or microscope, but as an adult that has changed. I currently have two telescopes and wanted a microscope so I ordered this one which is marketed as an entry level microscope. It was really easy to set up and came in a nice storage case. I really like the various features of this microscope, especially the lighting above and below the "deck" or whatever it is called. I don't yet know which light to use on a particular specimen, so at the end I look at it with each individual light and can then determine which is the best. I can see different details depending on the light I use, but I still use it, so I still enjoy looking at things. The microscope, objectives and eyepieces all seem to be of really good quality and the microscope itself is heavy and well balanced so doesn't tend to move when viewing samples. I have my own "work table" in our basement office that I keep the microscope on and because I didn't want to pack it in the case and take it out and just leave it on the desk I ordered a microscope cover to keep it dust and other things keeps away, which I would recommend if you omit it. Overall I am very happy with this microscope and it is always very interesting to look at things through it. My kids think it's pretty cool too and if I can get them involved in science with things like telescopes and microscopes then I'm all for it

Price to power this microscope is awesome! It came with an information sheet and a pamphlet with a web site and QR code link to the manual. However, the provided info details the controls, operation and trouble shooting just fine. In fact, about the only thing the manual has that is extra to that is a lot of technical specs that I personally did not need. Which I knew before the product arrived because I took the time to look for it. If you HAVE to have a manual, all you have to do is google the brand and model for a manual and like magic, you have it right there on your screen to read and/or download. I had ample time, between ordering and the arrival of the product, to watch videos and research to re-familiarize myself with basic operations, functions and practices of microscopy so that when my order arrived, I was looking at my red and white blood cells in minutes! I can hardly wait to go to our local duck pond to get water samples to view. This is an awesome microscope for the money.

The gift was made by my little kids which I didn't use and discover in the world of mini science.

It is intended for a young student and the gear is great in its carrying case and very engaging. And the quality must be sufficient for the start.

This is a great microscope for beginners. Two different lighting positions and a kit with slides and powerful magnifying lenses. The controls are easy to use!

I bought this microscope a semester ago for my biology co-op class. I already owned a Sonlight brand microscope (which I love) and was loaned a very expensive binocular microscope. Later, as more students came into the class, I was loaned an even MORE expensive, fancy binocular microscope.
And guess what? This small, inexpensive, light-weight scope is the second most popular one in the class among the students and by me. The only one we like better is the Sonlight one (it has a mechanical stage so it makes moving slides to search for something easier), but we only like it a little better (and this one is much less expensive).

I am very pleasantly shocked by how great the optics of this little scope are and how easy it is to use. AND it has the option to be battery powered, so it‘s a great take-along scope for outdoor explorations. I highly recommend this and if I am ever in the market to purchase a third microscope, I'll be purchasing another of these.

I only use this for gill scrapes on my koi when concerned about possible parasite infections. Have also played around with it putting various random items on slides to check out its magnification ability. I was impressed, but know next to nothing about microscopes. It does seem very well built though and Works perfectly for my limited use. Also, I had an issue with one magnification lens that fell when I was switching lenses and came apart into its separate pieces. Called customer service for help with how to reassemble the lens and they were excellent in just sending out a free replacement lens.

This is a great value and a lot of fun to use with the kids. Like any other microscope, it takes a little practice to get the knack of focusing, but after a few minutes it‘s quite easy. This scope provides a nice clear picture when dialed in.
It's very solidly built and quite heavy. I wouldn't drop it give how sensitive optics can be, but it's still very sturdy. The weight also adds to the stability. It feels like a quality product.

Make sure you get some slides (prepared and/or blank) as this doesn't come with any.
