It reminds me of some of the ones I used at school, but this one is nicer and actually works. It's well laid out and really has everything you need to get started. It comes in a nice carry case (when it arrives it's in a brown box, but when you open the box everything from the kit is in a gray box). For the price, it's an excellent entry point for anyone interested in biology or just those interested in a new science-themed toy.

was very impressed with this little microscope. It's made of metal and feels quite sturdy. It came with a box of pre-prepared slides with all sorts of interesting things to look at; horse hair, bee wings, bee legs, plant parts, etc. There are also two packs of glass slides and covers so you can make your own. There are three lenses of different sizes, and then a piece that you can add to the eyepiece to increase the size of each lens by 2x. There are loads of extra accessories like tweezers and a small plastic tube and other things that I don't even understand what they are for. The whole thing comes in a well-padded zipped carrying case that keeps the microscope safe when stored or transported from place to place. Everything about this microscope reminds me of my high school days in biology class! Love all the extra attachments that come with it. I haven't used them all yet, but I absolutely love what I've used! We recommend!

When I was a kid, I had no real interest in science or looking at things through a telescope or microscope but as an adult that has changed. I have two telescopes currently and wanted a microscope so I ordered this one, which is marketed as a beginner microscope. It was really easy to set up and came in/with a nice storage case. I really like all of the different features this microscope has, especially a light above and below the "deck" or whatever it's called. I haven't mastered which light I should use on a particular specimen, so I end up looking at it with each of the lights and will be able to tell which one is best, however, you can see different details depending on which light you use, so I still like looking at things with each. The microscope, objective lens and eyepieces all seem to be of really good quality and the microscope itself is heavy and balanced well so it doesn't tend to move around when trying to look at specimens. I have my own "work" desk in our basement office that I have the microscope on and because I didn't wanna have to take it in and out from the case and wanted to just leave it on the desk, I ordered a microscope cover for it to keep dust and things off of it, which I'd recommend if you're going to leave it out.Overall, I'm really happy with this microscope and it's always really interesting looking at things through it. My kids think it's pretty cool too and if I can get them into things like science with things like telescopes and microscopes than I'm all for it
