While not super sophisticated, this works great. I read other reviews and had some concerns thinking I might have to return this, but I‘m quite satisfied with the functionality given the price point.
I added the provided 3x AA batteries, flicked on the power (light worked great), found a spec of wood fiber and just put it on a slide (which I had bought separately for a few bucks), clipped the slide in, and it was immediately in focus (which was a happy accident). The zoom in/out controls worked well - tight enough to feel solid, but loose enough to turn without much effort.
When switching to higher magnification, I had to turn the brightness up which was easy with the adjustment knob.
I should have gotten a scope with controls for a sliding table/shelf because at these scales moving the slide is very sensitive. But I got what I needed with this.
I would suggest this for a beginner (like me) who is in need of seeing tiny things :)
If I have longevity issues with this, I'll update this review; but for now, it has done exactly what I needed.

Purchased this microscope for homeschool science use, and it does everything we need it to do, with very little fuss. Good value for the money.

Ho addirittura smontato il coperchio del led e ci ho poggiato una lente concava, poi con la stampante in 3d ho stampato i filtri per il darkfield tradotto ,Campo oscuro ....e li ho posizionati sulla lente ....una figata

I got this for my kids because they love science. We’ve been looking for a great quality reasonable priced microscope & purchased this one based on a recommendation. I was very excited when we received it because it looked just like the ones we used in my high school biology and physics classes. I knew right away it would last be durable & actually work the way it’s supposed to. It’s inspired my young kids to start a science journal. Great buy!

Oh my stars this microscope is so awesome i got it for my son for his birthday and we LOVE it!!!! We put just about anything we can think of on slides to look at blood is really cool and even better a mosquito smacked and put directly on a slide was amazing but if its not all the way flat its hard to focus but putting the slide under a stack of books for an hour fixed that :)

Purchased this for daughter, as birthday gift. She loves this... “just like the ones at the lab in summer STEM Camp!" Mom, Dad and brother are excited using this, too. When you change the lenses, to zoom in or out, the focus matches!!! So Much better than the one I had growing up. Recommended! Kentfaith has a full series of microscopes at several price points... a great product for a great price!

Perfect first scope for a 8-10 year old. Kid I gave it to had it up and was using it inside of 10 minutes with minimum adult help - and I caught him making his own slides that after noon. One thing - this scope does not come with what is needed to make slides, or with reasonable set of sample slides. So order some up with the scope if you want to be able to use it right out of the box.

I bought this for my son who has developed an interest in biology and he loves it. The rest of the reviews here cover the scope pretty well. I‘m leaving this one to say that we had an issue with the eyepieces so we contacted Kentfaith directly. They promptly resolved the issue without any hassle. This alone was enough to prompt me to write this review. Good customer service adds greatly to the value of this microscope.
