Relocated the 36mm ball head to my lighter duty tripod and now have two functional tripods and feel the gear head will be a great addition.

In my opinion, there's no such thing as a tripod that's suitable for everyone and all photographic situations. If you take it with you on nature hikes, it needs to be lightweight and compact, yet still stable even at full extension. The K&F isn't the lightest on the market, but it has a maximum height of over 1.7 meters and is only 50 cm long when closed. It has four sections, and the smallest end section has a diameter of 19 mm. Therefore, it's stable and sturdy. The locking systems are sturdy and easy to operate. The ball head doesn't have the precision of a micrometric head, but it moves smoothly and doesn't move if you tighten it properly. The quality/price ratio is top-notch!
I've now had time to test it for a few months and I can confirm my initial positive impressions. It took me a while to familiarize myself with the leg locks (I have another Manfrotto tripod with levers) and with the adjustment and locking of the column and head movements. Once you understand that everything needs to be tightened properly, the tripod is stable and quick to adjust. It's not small—in fact, it's a giant—but it's well-engineered and easy to carry. The movements are fluid. I'm very happy with it.

Solid tripod that delivers what it states. Simple and effective with a great payload capability. Much better than my manfrotto which cost £250
