The Black Mist filter makes the image somewhat softer and more "fluid." This is especially noticeable in bokeh (background blur) and light incidence. This makes the bokeh appear a touch softer. However, this effect is rather subtle. The 1/4 filter isn't overly strong. Especially in focus, sharpness remains quite high, which isn't a bad thing. In terms of quality, there's nothing wrong with the K&F filter. The filter does what it's supposed to and can be used well as a creative tool.
For a softer bokeh and an interesting effect

Great budget alternative to the tiffin filters. I would recommend these over the tiffin!

K&F make the best diffusion filters on the market and this half Mist is no exception.
Highlights glow beautifully and shadows are lifted slightly making images feel cinematic in nature.
I have every intensity just to be sure. I highly recommend the K&F black diffusion filters.

It feels a quarter step stronger than BPM 1/8 but close enough. I have about a dozen of the Tiffen but will be getting these from now on. Original lens hood and lens cap still work!

The &F Concept Nano-K Series Black Mist 1/4 filter arrived promptly. It's always stored safely in a special case. Three separately packaged cleaning cloths are also included. The workmanship seems to be excellent. The filter fits and is easy to apply. The effect is subtle but visible and enhances a few images. I'm satisfied.

I've always wanted to really go for a dreamy look and 1/4 mist is nice for leaving on your lens for a bit of that look without "overdoing it", but when you want that extra bit of oomph for a particular shot/scene/moment? This is it. It's also very well made and just feels durable, like it's going to be with you for your career as long as you treat it correctly. I'm also a fan of the rigid ring around the glass that makes gripping it to place or remove much more easier. It's a great filter to have and a great company to purchase from so I'd definitely recommend if you are in the market for this type of filter.

It comes with a filter in a simple plastic case and three cleaning wipes. Using the filter is easy, and the results are okay. I previously tested a 1/4 filter, which I found too strong. The 1/4 Promist filter is more discreet and pleasant.

It's a very high-quality filter, and I appreciate the addition of microfiber cleaning pads. I always have it on my 50mm lens, and I tried it for night photography, and it's great. 5 stars.

Wow, what a change in the images I am taking! Turns a normal image into a classy portrait! Gives a very nice effect to your pictures. The price is right, you can't beat it! Definitely worth the value! I give this an easy: A+

Lenses on modern digital cameras are increasingly being optimized for sharpness and imaging performance, which is of course a good thing, but on the other hand it also creates a dilemma: subjects often appear harsh and high-contrast, and images somehow lack a certain charm. Effect filters like the Nano-K Black Diffusion from K&F Concept are designed to soften this modern look, make subjects appear a little softer, and make highlights appear diffuse and somewhat softer, and they are particularly popular with cinegraphers. Photographers also benefit from such filters, as portraits, for example, take on a pleasant, somewhat dreamy look without losing too much sharpness. The diffusion effect is best shown when a light source, such as a window or lamp, is in the field of view. You will have to experiment a bit at first to find the optimal filter strength for the desired look. The K&F Nano-K Black Diffusion 1/4 that I tried out is, in my opinion, ideal for gaining initial experience, as the 1/4 filter thickness already brings out the diffusion effect very well, while still maintaining sufficient sharpness and contrast. In terms of feel and quality, there is nothing wrong with the K&F Black Diffusion. The filter is very well made and has a flat profile to avoid vignetting. The thread is cleanly machined and smooth. I did not notice any noticeable color shifts or vignetting. Tip: I always buy filters based on the largest lens diameter I have and then adjust the filter to the respective lenses on which I intend to use the filter using step-up rings. This has the advantage that you only have to buy filters once, and even though large filters are of course a bit more expensive than small ones, it's worth it in the long run because step-up rings don't cost much. It may also be worth buying a complete set of such adapter rings with different diameters.
