I bought this to replace my Benro Model. The Benro has a proprietary "arca swiss" type clamp that doesn't work with all plates. This one has a conventional clamp. Was pleasantly surprised with the build quality and lightness of this head.

I tried several other tripod heads but settled on this one because it is the easiest to use. The Neewer and Benro geared heads were too stiff and required a lot of physical effort to make adjustments. This one has less tension so large adjustments are relatively quick and easy while it has the same fine tuning. I prefer this to my pan head because the pan head shifts when I tighten the knobs. The geared head stays in place without having to be locked down. In all, the geared head is the best choice for slow paced photography where I strive for perfection.

so far, this has been a great product. I’ve had it for a while now, and it’s been sturdy and stable. I can nail my verticals and horizontals much easier with this gear head. at first, I was worried since I wanted another brand, but this one has not disappointed me yet. highly recommend!

I've been using this geared head for a few months now and am very pleased with it. The finish is excellent and the gearing is smooth and precise. Love having the Arca compatible plate, it hold my Smallrig cage and Haoge tripod collars very well.
Minor criticism related the the locking feature: you must tighten a screw (no locking option) to secure the arca-style plate. It has never loosened up but I double check it often, especially if i have it on its side to shoot portrait mode. Hard to trust a small bit of metal to keep $2-3K worth of gear safe, but again, no issues so far!

I'm a studio photographer specializing in photography of artwork. I use a camera stand rather than a tripod and have tried many different heads. So far this is the best. Once I set it for level in both dimensions, I can micro-manage degrees of variation.
Okay, mine is a specialty, but I look forward to also using it on a tripod with my spotting scope. Quick large movements plus easy micro adjustments is amazing.

I wish I could have been able to keep it. It came down to a fluid head or the 3-Way Geared Tripod Head. I chose the fluid head. But to those into still photography this is a must have. Very well built! Very procise.
