I should have bought one of these years ago! Seems I am always running cables and wires through walls for various audio, video and computer networking projects. No more guess work on which route to take. When I'm not doing projects in the house, I am in my shop working on cars, trucks, tractors, etc. I am finally able to get a visual between the engine and firewall, under and behind the dash, above the fuel tank, along the frame of the vehicle, and countless other tight spots that have always been a nightmare to work on. This thing can pay for itself in one use if it means you don't have to remove components just to get an eyeball on a certain area of the vehicle. I love this tool! Easy to use. Has a sharp image. Tube is rigid enough to run vertically, yet very flexible and plenty long enough for most jobs. The dual cameras are a plus. Great battery life. Even the protective storage case is high quality! I would buy again in a heartbeat!

My plumbing outfit is normally pretty competent but they charge $300 bucks for just about any visit and work they do. I had ** subtle ** leakage in a cramped area behind the tub in my bathroom that was dripping to the floor below. Plumber couldn't get to root cause. The camera showed me that our clawfoot tub has progressive corrosion around the underside of its drain causing leakage and that also, a nearly hidden pipe that goes up to the shower never had it's sealing ring tightened.I turn on the shower and this camera IMMEDIATELY shows the leak spurt out at a particular location - i.e. immediate cause & effect evidence. The picture is very clear. The ability to take pictures and even movies for what you find puts it over the top.* Comes with a decent case and a perfunctory owners manual.* Battery is replaceable.* I have been able to get things done without referring to the manual much. The ONLY thing that threw me off for a moment was 1) being unable to find the micro-USB port to begin charging (It's behind a skinny strip of rubber seal you can pull back) and 2) It took me a few minutes to realize that I didn't have to add a USB card as they were actually nice enough to provide a 32GB one.* The cord is pretty darn long and is very armored. Slight frustration: You'll spend most of your time adjusting and wrestling with the fiber optic cord/snake to get it just so. But that's life eh?SUMMARY: While this is my initial use, I can say that - at this point - I can recommend this product. It's one of those things where I don't envision using it but once a year but when I need it, it will come in very handy.EPILOGUE:I could have used this years ago while doing electrical work in our turn of the century older house (non standard studs) and also when I was mounting big screen TV. At that time, the way I had to gather info was circumstantial: pounding on wall, stud finder & drilling a hole or two and patching later. This device would have solved all that and saved me a lot of time.

This tool is a must have not just for a mechanic. An HVAC service tech. A sewer repair tech but anyone who has to do inspections or look for problems in almost impossible places. I am a retired Diesel technician and Diesel and Automotive instructor at one of our local community colleges. In my profession they had small scopes with short cables and to some extent those were good but what if you needed just a foot more to let you be able to see what your problem was? And with this tool you can also switch over to look at the side ( say you were looking in a cylinder or the inside of an exhaust pipe ). I also used this to look in my home sewer to locate a blockage 11 feet away from where I started. And since I could see what the blockage was, years of soap and grease build up, I was able to unplug it with one of the attachments that comes with the kit. This tool is a must have for just about everyone. Looking in a roof gutter to see a blockage. Looking under the refrigerator to look for something you dropped. It literally has thousands of uses. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. You won't be sorry and you can't go wrong. The end has lights in it so being able to see things in dark places is a snap. The first time you unblock your sewer and didn't call a plumber it just paid for itself. If your unsure about your ability to use this or any other tool please call a professional. Your own safety comes first but for the rest of you DIYer's you won't know how you ever got along without it. John Wingert

I ordered this endoscope because i grew tired of cable connections being lost under floors or not knowing where beams and studs were in walls. I work in trade show booth production and installation. That means complex installs are done under terrible times pressures and sometimes mistakes happen. If an electrical connection is severed under the floor - if you have to fish a sound cable from here to there - this endoscope will quickly show you what you lost, what got disconnected or what path you take. The neck length is perfect - long but manageable - the screen is bright and clear - the battery is more than enough. The build quality is excellent. For my purposes this is the perfect endoscope. Also nice case. It came quickly. I couldn't be happier.

I have tried numerous other inspection cameras, phone attachments, etc... None of them can hold a candle to this inspection camera!I used it to inspect the piston wash on piston tops and cylinder cross hatch marks inside the bores and it works fantastic for this. It's a little difficult at first to get the scope pointed the way you want, but with a little practice and pre-shaping before inserting it into the bore you can look exactly where you want. There's also a 90 degree side camera that helps look at cross hatches in the bores too...I'm very pleased with this camera...I have a lot of different vehicles, motorcycles, snowmobiles, etc that I'm always needing to inspect and this works fantastic. The picture resolution is excellent, stays focused too.Seriously, spend the money, its worth it for what you're getting.

Very pleased with both the quality of construction and the quality of the images produced. As a serious DIYer I appreciate high quality tools. I put this endoscope in that category. During my 40+ years of experience I have learned it is typically worth the extra money to buy quality tools designed to do a specific job. Such tools typically operate with fewer problems, produce better results, are more durable, and are a pleasure to use, instead of being a source of frustration and regret one often has when buying inferior tools.I really like most everything about this unit.- The dual camera. Being able to see straight ahead and at 90 degrees, without having to use some sort of mirror attachment, is really helpful. And being able to switch between the two views without moving the probe is invaluable (obviously can’t do that if using a mirror attachment).- The semi-rigid cable. It is flexible, yet rigid, once bent to the desired shape. It retains its shape until you change it. It doesn’t flop around like many of the less expensive units do.- The high quality image produced by the camera and screen combination. The clarity is amazing and the details you can see is impressive. The images produced have been more than adequate for any inspection that I have done.- The adjustable lights built into the probe work well. They provide sufficient light for the camera to capture a clear image. In addition, being able to reduce the intensity of the light, at times, improves the image quality. The flashlight built into the hand-held unit is handy.- The simplicity and intuitiveness of the unit operation is welcomed. Since I don’t use the unit very often, being able to take it out of the case and immediately have it up and running providing images in a matter of minutes is great. Having a unit with more “bells and whistles” but one that I would have to refer to the instruction manual, to refresh my memory on how to use it, would be a real pain. Likewise, having to depend on establishing communication with a cell phone, and the inherent challenges that can come with the software on the cell phone recognizing and communicating with the camera, etc. is not a complication I need.- The case is very nice and appropriate for a professional/industrial piece of equipment such as this.Among other inspections performed, I was able to inspect my home’s HVAC ductwork to confirm the ducts were clean and free of any mold or mildew, saving hundreds of dollars by not hiring a specialty cleaning company to clean the ducts when they really didn’t need it. I cut diametrically opposed slits in a tennis ball and pushed the probe through the slits until the end of the probe was slightly protruding from the outside of one side of the ball. Then I was able to push the probe/tennis ball through the inside of the ductwork with the tennis ball keeping the probe about 1 ½ inch (i.e. radius of the tennis ball) off the surface of the ductwork. This technique worked well and allowed a thorough inspection to be performed.

After reviewing numerous endoscopes/boroscopes - I landed on this product. Some of the stand out features are the semi-rigid cable, the larger display, and (most importantly) the 2nd camera 90 degrees off the second.I've used/purchased other products in the past and they typically lack brightness and clarity. This product was bright enough for my purposes and clarity was good. I was looking for something where the focal length could look into a dark cavernous space and give me visibility in all directions. This product is sufficient for this task and much better than most. The standout feature that all of these cameras should have is the 90 degree opposed 2nd camera. This is critical when you enter a space like a floor joist or a void and have no ability to bend the end of the boroscope. With this easy to access camera, you can simply rotate the entire shaft and have a 360 degree view of what is going on in the cavity. The product worked well and has a case to transport it in. All pluses.

I dropped a woodruff key into an engine case and couldn't see it with the naked eye. I went to Harbor Freight to buy one of their scopes. When they refused their discount coupon to bring it down to a reasonable price I passed on it and ordered this. I'm so glad I did! This is much nicer and less money. The camera head is very small so it fit into some of the small gaps in the engine case and we were able to take a good look into all of the corners of the inside of the case. The side camera was equally as helpful - giving us views of areas we couldn't have seen otherwise. The resolution of the screen was excellent. The controls are intuitive. The storage case is nice.I'm now using this camera to check the pads on my disk brakes without having to take the wheels off of my vehicles to see them. So this has been a nice tool to add to the other tools in my garage. I'm glad to have it.

As someone only needing this once in awhile, it is just the ticket for what I need. Didn't want to buy a cheap one and be dissatisfied or buy an expensive one that would not be used all that much. This one has a nice screen and good picture. Not too hard to learn to use and not a lot of fiddly stuff to confuse things. Like most of these, even a lot of the more expensive ones, the snake takes some getting used to and yes, it can snag on things sometimes making it a little hard to see what you want and that's frustrating, but after you learn to use the thing to see those areas before you poke it in there and avoid them it gets easier. Yea, we would all like to have more mechanical control over the snake lead, but unless you got real deep pockets, this works most of the time. For the price, it's a handy gadget.

I bought this scope so I could look inside walls for a rewire of three rooms in my house without having to tear up the existing sheet rock. This product with its large screen, portability and video clarity with lighted camera in both forward and side views more than fit the bill. It saved me many hours of work.Follow up: I needed to replace a small grabbing hook that screws on the end of the cable for retrieving small items when it broke. K&F Concept support (Tina) sent me factory direct parts and now I can use my scope with a hook end for retrieving dropped items. In the interim, I have had a chance to use the scope in the process of replacing wiring inside of walls without tearing up the drywall. Coupled with a good digital scanner the scope worked well and I would recommend the -5m-DL by K&F Concept to others.
