I got this for a new lens to effectively protect it from dirt and damage. Threads are good with no problems getting the filter off and on; appears to be same or better quality as other Hoya or Sigma UV filters I own.

UV filters don't do very much from an optical standpoint, but I sometimes use one to add a layer of protection for my camera lens.
If I am in a windy or dusty environment, I pop on a UV filter. I also like to use one when it is rainy to keep water droplets off my lens. It is much easier to remove and clean a not-to-expensive filter than it is to clean an expensive camera lens. I try to carry UV filters of appropriate diameters for the lenses I use.
Mechanical and optical quality are good as far as I can discern. The filter threads smoothly onto my Nikon lens.

I've been looking to upgrade the UV filter on my telephoto lens and this looked like a great option. The glass is very clear, and it doesn't cause any issues or artifacts with my photos. It is a really nice UV filter for $20 (at the time of this review), and the quality and materials seem really great especially for the price. I would recommend this!

This filter provides the protection I needed at a reasonable price. I’ve been using it for a few weeks and it fits securely and is well made. It comes in a hard plastic box with a small piece of foam. Would recommend for anyone looking for a UV filter.

Works to protect lens from fingerprints and dust. And reduces the haze somewhat, especially nice if you go out on the water.

A UV lens is one that I recommend everyone have in their kit, especially if you like in very sunny but windy climates like I do. It really does help protect my lens from the debris flying around and just things in general. Photography isn't a cheap hobby/profession so taking a few dollars to invest in some protection is necessary. The fit of this is very tight, at first I didn't think it would fit properly but I just had to screw it on and off a few times before the threads slipped on with ease. These aren't super expensive which is great, but still do the job.
