I just used this for a medical conference which had to go virtual. The pre-live check in with the AV guy went well. When I asked if I sounded okay he laughed and asked if I was using a professional setup.

The hardware industrial design is superb - the volume knob, built-in power source, shock cage, overall size & weight.I purchased this hoping to use it atop my Fuji X-T3 as a source of audio for video conferencing. The smart features of Deity do not support Fuji cameras properly, but you can use a regular TRS cable which works, for a time. The issue is the mic will automatically shut off without warning (not battery related) because the smart features cannot sense whether it is in use. This, of course, is a deal breaker, and caused me to return it.Audio quality was decent, but nothing really special. I got a AudioTechnica shotgun with separate audio interface and prefer the sound.Overall if your camera is compatible and want a portable all-in-one mic with minimal fuss, this is great. However, if its not supported, just avoid.

Love the design of this microphone. I shoot videos and of course it is ideal for that, but it came to the rescue when my wife and I had to live stream our wedding due to COVID-19 (my parents weren't able to fly down and make it). This microphone allowed them to hear the ceremony perfectly in a windy canyon in Utah. Plugged right into my brother's phone. Simple. Easy to use. QUALITY. And an awesome case!

UPDATE:I've had my replacement for a good half a yr-yr now, idk? Yeah, been about exactly a yr now I guess. Wow. Anyway, it doesn't share the same problem, it charges and turns on every time. I've done several projects with it and yeah I'm happy with it. The replacement came with a windsock when the first one didn't so maybe the first one wasn't new? Idk. Whatever, I like this one. Thanks.ORIGINAL:I ordered this D3 Pro mic on 9/21/19 and only used a few times around my apartment on simple videos, mainly tests to see if it and other new gear worked. Literally hooked it up 3 different times, swear to God. Last time being a few weeks to a month ago. Yes, it seemed to work just fine with my Sony a6400 and I didn't notice any sort of problem whatsoever. I had much improved sound and honestly I like the way it looks. Until today when I hooked it up for the 4TH TIME EVER.Having actually wrote and planned an official video to film today, I get it out of the case and set up on cam on tripod and the D3 Pro is dead. That made no sense to me, but whatever, I charged it for over an hour. The moment I unplug it, it's dead and cannot be turned on. I've since repeated those steps and nada. I'm extremely bummed. Guess I won't film anything today because my new $200 product has a battery that didn't even last one hour altogether. I understand a battery slowing draining itself out, but not this crap. Maybe I should have went with the half-priced $100 D3 mic so I could actually replace the battery. Sorry, getting mad again.I really do hope it was just a super rare defect because after spending 47 minutes on the phone with Amazon they are making a one-time exception and sending me a replacement. I'm really afraid the next one will do the same.I don't know how to feel about this. I was 100% onboard with this mic all the way until this little stunt with the battery.Anyone else have anything like this happen?

Other mics in this class have too much bass for individuals with a low voice. The volume control is nice. Use this with a Panasonic HC-VX981 4K.

This is an amazing upgrade to my Rhode Video Mic Pro. It's more sensitive, much better sound, much more clear, and it has incredible range indoors. The gain knob has saved me a lot of trouble when I need to make a quick adjustment without changing settings in Wirecast or whatever software you use (Just be aware you will hear your fingers messing with the knob so do this when you aren't recording or streaming). It lets me leave the software settings alone and adjust the mic for changing conditions.

I currently make videos for clients and for youtube and I been using the Rode Videomicro and compared it definitely sounds a lot better. I put in my high quality headphones to hear it loud and crisp. Out of the box it sounds amazing. Highly recommend and definitely worth the purchase.
