This ring allows me to keep one size of specialty filters and use it on my other lens. The metal ring threads are cut well enough to allow the ring to smoothly screw onto the lens and the filters .

Works well on my Canon. In order to save money, I bought this ring to use with a larger filter than my camera natively accepts. That way I can upgrade the camera or use a larger lens and still use my expensive filters.This ring mounts securely and swiftly. No grating or friction.

Keep the cost down!, buy the largest filter (mm) for your lens and use these step downs on other lens. You won't need to carry as many filters for each size lens.
