I think I've bought and used most solar speakers on AMZ. This one was the best. First, the solar works. I say that because solar (and bluetooth for that matter) can be tricky - where the solar panel is located on the speaker matters (top is best for me), charging "promises" from the manufacturer, battery life, bluetooth, sound quality, etc. There's quite a few variables to get right.This one worked. All those outcomes worked out well. Sound was good, the solar charge lasted as long as I needed it to (I'd wake up in the morning and the speaker would still be going; no joke), bluetooth signal and durability were great. I did leave them out in the winter months (in CO) and this year they stopped taking a charge (sad day). That's mostly my fault though. I know better - batteries and cold weather were not made for each other.I bought the newer version of the same speaker but no love. Sorry, ABFOCE, that wasn't an upgrade. Sound quality bad, didn't solar charge well, bluetooth was staticky, and had to send them back. Not a close second to it's predecessor. I bought a few others and didn't like them either - flimsy, charging on back side (not good for me), etc.Today, I'm buying another one of these. Going to take better care of it this time and of course made sure I bought the 3 yr protection plan. Don't think twice about the 3 year. Outdoor devices, with batteries, bluetooth, speaker(s), etc., won't last outside with the elements. I think you have "at best" 3 years of life. For the $45 and the $6 protection, one of my favorite purchases on AMZ. :)
