I really like this tripod. It's lightweight, easy to use, and very functional. I've been using it on a regular basis for taking pictures and using it with my spotting scope. One day in early November when I finished hiking in the Colorado Mountains, I pulled out the tripod from my backpack's side pocket only to find one of the legs had fallen off somewhere on my six mile journey. When I got back home, I immediately contacted K&F Customer service asking if there was anyway they could replace the missing leg. Much to my surprise, they apologized for any inconvenience this caused me, packaged up a new leg and shipped it off that same day. It arrived today, and is already back on the tripod ready to be used this weekend. Thank you K&F for your great product and outstanding customer service!

Everything is just fine. However it is even better if the hook is more strong and bigger for my camera bag. Also the carrying bag should be longer by 1/2 inch for me to zip it up easier.
It is a good tripod

This is a very nice travel tripod. I always get backpacks with loops to hold a small tripod, but all the small tripods I've had were flimsy, and not worth hauling around. All of my good tripods are too big for that purpose. This one now fills that void.

It's very strong. When extending the legs for the first time, I did have to yank it a bit to get them out, but after I freed them they slid smoothly.

They rotate all the way around and the maximum angle locks in with a button.

The top arm extends up with 2 segments, and each leg has 5 segments. This is a great tripod to carry around, but if you need to deploy it quickly, it might frustrate you. It takes a good minute to fully deploy if you know what you're doing.

It comes with a ball head and a quick release plate. The ball head glides smoothly, and has a compass and spirit level attached to the top to ensure you have perfect framing. The ball head also can rotate with what feels like a fluid head swivel on the bottom. Simple pans are easy, but you have to twist the camera instead of holding a handle. The quick release plate locks down with a thumb screw. You can loosen the screw and slide it back and forth a small amount, but it hits a stop without letting your camera slide off and fall to the ground. It's a fairly small quick release plate, but it's fairly strong.

It has a nice steel hook on the bottom that you can attach a sand bag to, for if you plan on shooting in the wind.

Overall this is a great kit that comes with the tripod, a ball head, and a quick release plate. It has everything you need besides the camera.

Highly recommended.

I don’t like to take my big gear when I travel, and I get nice photo performance out of my GX7, And with this tripod I can travel super light now. Hiking those 14ers with less than 3lbs of photo gear is going to be AMAZING! I could probably take my Sony Alpha 6300 instead with a zoom lens if I needed some reach.

I wouldnt recommend big dslrs for this tripod. Stick to mirrorless or point and shoot.

This tri-pod is everything you want. Sturdy, carbon fiber, twist lock legs. Fits inside my bag if I want to. A hook for a weight bag. The head feels a little tight not so smooth maybe it has to break in.

I've used tripods for over 40 years. I probably have a dozen right now, from travel versions to heavy duty, carbon fiber and aluminum. So why do I think this is nearly perfect - but falls short?

**The good points: Really compact and light weight. This will fit inside any luggage, most packs, etc. It can also hang from most sleeping bag straps on packs if you're off on a long hike.

Expands to almost 6 feet - but at max extension it's not very stable. Four feet is about the realistic max for a DSLR with 70-200mm lens. For a compact or lighter (mirrorless) camera it's OK.

Arca-Swiss style mount plate.

The thing just keeps on expanding. And expanding. But wait - there's more. Even the center column expands.

Really nice and compact carrying/storage bag.

You can't invert the tripod and use it upside-down - but you can remove the center column and reverse it, so it's the same thing.

Two leg positions (see photos.)

**The mediocre: Well, two leg positions. Many have three or four. These really come in handy in more difficult situations - around and on bounders, stairs, etc.

The weight hook unthreads easily. You'll want to use some thread-lock.

The feet are not removable, can't be replaced and there's no dirt-spikes.

**Negatives: The ball head can not be locked in place so spins off too easily. If you look at almost any other tripod or monopod, there are set-screws in the head mounting plate. These thread upwards against the hear and prevent it from spinning off. None here. So the head can spin off if you're not careful, You'll need to use thread-lock to play it safe.

The center column has a nice hook for hanging a weight from. Again, on many tripods this unthreads and there's a standard 3/8-24 thread there so you can mount the tripod head upside down. No 3/8-24 thread. It's much larger.

The 3/8-24 thread on the top is locked in place. This is removable on most tripods and monopods and can be flipped over for a 1/4-20 thread. Not here.

Flex. Look at the photo of just the leg. There's a few inches of splay/bending with just 7 lbs of weight on the tripod. This can be avoided by not extending the tripod all the way.

**Summary: It's still a really nice travel tripod that could be improved. You need to lock the head mounting thread or it will spin off. VERY light weight. If you travel, fly, hike, etc. this is a nice choice. FYI, the hex key is a 5/32 nds.

What makes this tripod most valuable is it's light weight, compactness and portability. It's not my favorite tripod I own, but it's my favorite tripod to grab and go or travel with. Compared to traditional tripods, this thing is half the carry size and way lighter.

LIKES:
-Size!!! It's so compact and has no bulk. Easy to stash away.
-Weight. Very light and easy to carry.
-Small but highly functional camera mount.
-Ball head locks super tight with a simple thumb lever.
-360* panoramic head with separate tightening knob
-Nice carry case with interior pocket.

DISLIKES:
-A little unstable, especially at small bottom legs, at full expansion
-Not a big fan of twist thread locks on the legs. Personal preference of thumb latches.
-Fold down arm locks are the pull out/push in type. Prefer the push release ones.
-All the moving mechanisms are a little stiff, but i think they'll work in nicely.

OVERALL:
Perhaps a little nit-picky to give it 4 stars. If you're looking for the most compact and light weight full size tripod, this is 5 stars! But it just lacks some 5 star features and overall quality, but it is right there and a great tripod!
Situationally great tripod! Compact and light. Situationally great tripod! Compact and light. Situationally great tripod! Compact and light. Situationally great tripod! Compact and light.

Small but sturdy. I bought this tripod for my B-camera when I film weddings. I found taking it everywhere I travel because it small, compact and lightweight.
