I chose the K&F Concept magnetic filter system for maximum flexibility. This set includes a base ring, a 1/4" Black Mist filter, a 2-32mm variable ND filter with CPL, and a lens cap.

The filters fit securely on the adapter ring, and everything can be changed and expanded quickly. Filters can also be easily combined, and K&F offers numerous other filters. I will definitely be adding more ND filters to the set.

The image quality with K&F filters is really good, especially with the more expensive ones, and there is hardly any color cast.

purchased this filter set for my Sony camera system - a7rv
the fit and finish is excellent with just the right amount of magnetic attachment and the Cpl rotates moves smoothly - even the cover comes off without pulling off the whole stack
I needed the Cpl and diffusion primarily and use nd up to 3 stops and all work great
the screw down for the Cpl is unique for keeping everything fixed when using the variable nd unlike on my freewell system @ 67mm which was more than twice the price
Overall a great purchase and addition to my kit

I’ve wanted a magnetic filter kit for a long time, and hey, it’s Christmas! So why not? This K&F Concept kit has all the filters I use - a CPL, mist and variable ND. I was getting so tired of screwing filters on and off all the time that I sometimes just couldn’t be bothered. The magnetic set up solves that. It’s just click on and off, or stack them if you want. I have a bag-full of screw-in K&F filters and I’ve had no issues with their quality or optics - they’ve been (and are) excellent. For me K&F is that sweet-spot in quality and price where something like a NiSi filter is way too expensive and the opposite end (no names) just absolute junk. I wish the magnetic kit came with a variable 10-stop ND filter, though. The ND2-32 the kit comes with is only up to 5 stops. But I have a screw-in K&F ND3-ND1000 so I’m covered if I really need 10 stops. The kit comes with a pouch, which is a bonus, and a lens cap, which is handy. I’ve used the kit several times now and it’s been terrific. No real issues, although it took a little getting used to using the 2-in-1 CPL and ND filter. And the adapter ring could do with a bit more magnetism. But the quality of the glass is there - no big X across the image when using the variable ND filter for example. Overall the kit is easy to use and good value for money. It’s such a relief to not have to use screw-in filters any more. Recommended.

A very nice three-filter kit: a circular polarizer, an ND filter, and a diffuser filter.

I found the build quality excellent: aluminum and possibly copper, with a very neat finish. It all comes in a pouch with individual compartments, which can even be worn on a belt.

What I noticed in the field with a 40 MP sensor:
The circular polarizer does exactly what it's supposed to do: polarize, and it works very well. No yellow or blue cast. It enhances colors—like all good polarizers, since reducing reflections naturally reveals saturation. I didn't notice any loss of sharpness.
The ND 4–32 filter works in tandem with the polarizer, allowing you to choose whether or not to polarize while reducing brightness by 2 to 32 stops (approximately -1 to -5 stops).

For example, if the starting aperture without the filter is f/4, at -2 stops it becomes f/8, and at -5 stops it becomes f/22.

The results are truly impressive. I tested this combination, with the polarizer activated and deactivated, ranging from -2 to -32, and the color stability is excellent, both in photos and videos. The ND filter proves very useful in photos for creating water trails in daylight, but also in videos—for maintaining accurate settings in bright light.

The diffuser filter (here a 1/4) provides a soft, subtle effect. It diffuses light sources and reflections, slightly reducing contrast, which softens the image. It's also very effective in backlit situations. In video, it adds a slightly "cinematic," subtle, and pleasing look.

One small but welcome addition: While the pouch included in the kit is very well made, a lightweight individual cover (made of fabric or other material) would be useful to prevent the filters from getting too dirty, especially while hiking or in the field.

Aside from that, the quality is truly impeccable, and the price-performance ratio is hard to beat. Not to mention the magnetic feature! What a joy to change the filters in the blink of an eye!

A combination of a variable polarizing filter (N2-32) and a magnetic 1/4" black-mist filter, along with a magnetic ring for attaching to the lens, was tested at 82mm with my Canon lens on various lenses, including step-up rings when needed. A lens cap completes the trio, eliminating the need to remove the ring.

The polarizing filter doesn't have a crosshair marking; the effect is fairly consistent across the entire spectrum and doesn't impact image sharpness. The 1/4" black-mist filter provides diffusion, the intensity of which varies depending on the light source. Aside from very strong backlighting, I find it suitable for most situations. At night, with city lights, it definitely provides a more pleasing effect with a soft glow/halo around light sources. In daytime portraiture, it also softens the clinical look of modern lenses, resulting in more flattering skin tones.

The magnetic system is a major plus in terms of ease and speed of use; it holds very well and there's no need to screw or unscrew the filters. The build quality is excellent, and everything comes in a high-quality, thick fabric pouch—one of the models K&F sells specifically for this purpose, and one I already use to store my filters from various brands.
