77mm Black Mist 1/4 Filter with Brass Frame, Ultra Low Reflection, Mist Soft Glow Diffuser Lens Filters with 36 Multi-Layer Coatings - Nano-X Pro Series
SKU: KF01.3125
This an absolutely beautiful filter. I picked up the 1/4 and 1/8 filters and they are wonderful. They add a great dreamy haze to your images giving them a great cinematic effect.
The cases are also some of the best filter cases I have ever seen. They are nice "leather?" with pretty nice strap system to lift the filter out of the case without getting your grubby little fingers on them

This is a great camera lens diffuser. And also a very effective camera lens protector.
First off, the way that this arrives, packaged in a very fancy case and wrapped in a very protective cover... is just incredible. The case is so nice, it makes we want to take it off and store it.
The function is spot-on. The diffusing is subtle but noticeable. Which is great. The look is awesome as its mounted on the camera. The threads are clean and screw right on.
I am VERY happy with the quality of this diffuser.

77 mm lens filter ring from KNF concept. Another high-quality item from this brand which I’ve trusted for over five years now for all sorts of my camera accessories. The optical quality is flawless and the threads on the filter screw in super smoothly. This filter is a perfect middle ground option for Any videographer whether entry-level or more advanced. The price is right and I have honestly no complaints and easily recommend this filter with no reservations.

There are filters that you simply screw on and then forget. And there are some where you notice from the very first look through the lens: Something is happening with the image. It was exactly like that when I held the new 77 mm Black Mist 1/4 from K&F Concept in my hand — another filter for my manual video lenses on Micro Four Thirds, on both the GH6 and Blackmagic Pocket 4K. I was able to test it through the Amazon Vine program. The price was 135.99 euros in August 2025.
As usual from the manufacturer: brass socket, strong thread, no wobbling. I already have a number of ND filters and chargers from K&F Concept, and the manufacturing quality has always been at a level where you don't have to think twice about whether it will last. Unscrewing and unscrewing is as smooth as butter, even if you have to change the setup quickly on the go.
Black Mist — and why 1/4 works differently
The Black Mist function is not a gimmick for me. It removes this sometimes merciless sharpness from digital cameras, reduces skin blemishes and gives highlights that subtle, cinematic glow. I already have the 1/8 model, which is much more subtle. The new 1/4 looks stronger — especially in night photography or videos with selective light sources, the glow is more visible. In daylight, very bright scenes can look almost too soft, so I asked myself once or twice if that wasn't too much of a good thing when it came to landscapes.
I was pleasantly surprised by the very low tendency to reflect. Even backlight situations where other filters produce unsightly ghost images remain clean here. At the same time, however, you notice that the stronger diffusion effect can easily blur fine structures in architectural photographs — i.e. use them more carefully for documentary work.
In direct comparison to the 1/8 model, the 1/4 looks livelier, almost bolder. He brings a bit more “drama” into the picture. When shooting in a small bar with dim lights, he immediately gave me the feeling that I needed to rework less in post-production. In brighter outdoor shots, the effect is more present, which is not always intended.
My personal review
A high-quality tool that noticeably changes images. For creative video and portrait work, the 1/4 Black Mist is a powerful option, while the 1/8 remains the more discreet choice. I'll probably keep them both in my backpack — depending on how bold I want the picture to look.

It doesn't seem to impact image quality beyond what it's supposed to impact (a mist filter, you know, adds a misty look to the photo). You'll need an extra stop or so of lighting due to the brightness change. It's a good fit on 72mm lenses like my Canons, and it's easy to add and remove.

Trying out new filters is so much fun and exciting and filters from K&F are some of the best filters that I have ever used and this black mist filter doesnt disappoint and I'm so happy to have it in my collection. I did size up to an 82mm lens and I use an K&F step up rings set when using this filter on a smaller lens.
This filter is extremely clear and well made. The glass feels durable and even with using it and taking it out if my bag, sitting my camra down. I don't worry about small marks and scratches because of how durable the glass is. Its extremely easy to put on my camera and take it off. It only takes seconds to put it on and take it off. It does offer mild protection to your camera lens. It wasn't mean to work that way but in small accidents it may offer protection to your expensive glass. It functions beautifully.
The images come out so clear and beautiful. It softly blurs all the edges and allows you capture soft blurry photos and videos. I experienced extremely mild darkness around the edges but it looks like a style choice and unless you know what you are looking at you most likely won't notice it.
It comes with a gorgeous and sturdy storage pouch that will protect your filter while its in your bag or while you are traveling. Its extremely well made. It fits beautifully and tight onto my camera. I don't worry about it mistakenly falling off while using it. Its a good value when adding gear to your camera collection.

This K&F 1/4 black mist filter has impressed me with both performance and build quality. The 0.15% reflectivity makes a noticeable difference in reducing glare and ghosting, especially when shooting in bright light. Images look clearer, and highlights are much more controlled. The cinematic effect is beautiful too. It softens skin tones just enough to give photos and videos a smooth, polished look without losing detail or contrast.
The brass frame feels solid and fits the lens perfectly. It’s easy to attach and remove, and the material adds an extra layer of shock absorption that cheaper aluminum frames don’t offer. The multi-layer coatings are a big plus as well. They keep fingerprints and water spots under control, and cleaning is quick. For anyone who shoots portraits, weddings, or creative video, this filter adds that professional, dreamy touch without much effort. Price is what it is but I am surprised K&F is making great products these days

The K&F CONCEPT 82mm Black Diffusion 1/4 Filter is perfect for adding a soft, cinematic look to videos, vlogs, or portrait photography. It’s easy to use, fits securely, and the 36 multi-layer coatings ensure no color degradation. The quality of the material feels very solid, and the included storage case is excellent for keeping the filter safe and organized. Overall, it’s durable, reliable, and a great value for the price. Using this filter with a Sigma lens.

I’ve used a handful of diffusion filters over the years, and I really like the ones from K&F Concept I picked this up mostly for portrait work and some night street photography.
The effect is subtle but noticeable. It softens highlights just enough to give that dreamy, cinematic glow without turning everything into a foggy mess. Street lights, candles, even harsh LED signs get a nice bloom that feels organic. It’s great for video too, and adds that texture without needing post-production filters.
Build-wise, it’s solid. The frame is ultra-slim, so no vignetting even on my wide-angle lens. It screws on smoothly and doesn’t feel cheap, which is more than I can say for some filters in this price range. I also appreciate that it doesn’t mess with color balance, no weird tints or shifts, just clean diffusion.
One thing to note: if you’re expecting a heavy mist effect, this isn’t that. It’s more of a 1/4 strength softener, which is perfect for keeping detail while still smoothing out harsh edges. If you want something stronger, you might want to look at the 1/2 version.
Overall, for the price, this filter punches way above its weight. It’s great for portraits, vlogs, and nighttime city shots. If you’re chasing that “cinematic” look without breaking the bank, this is a solid pick. The only thing I wish was included is a lens cover. I have to remove this to put my lens cover on, they should make these with covers.
